(ARLO) Lydia.Dd from de partout et de nulle part, FranceI like the stories and your imagination to illustrate them ! The tea cup and the matches are good ! 26 Jan 2012 8:45am @Mhelene: You would not be laughing if you knew what happened to that cup during the shoot . . ! (Ronnie) @El pare: Oh, fear not, I have the survival instinct - and the chips and scratches to prove it ! (ARLO) Marleen from Doesburg, NetherlandsArlo is a true philosopher, even in hectic situations! 26 Jan 2012 9:33am @Marleen: He is sure familiar with hectic situations, Marleen ! He seems always to be present when they occur. Guaranteed best-seller. 26 Jan 2012 2:39pm RonnyVee from Tielt, BelgiumHmm, an accident caused by a cup of tea, so it seems! 26 Jan 2012 2:44pm Photographs by M.E. from San Francisco, United Statesso very entertaining !!! I am particularly drawn to the slight defocus of the teacup and books and how it provided the sense of movement, magical! 26 Jan 2012 2:54pm Tracy from La Selva Beach, United StatesLove the motion that Arlo has created here! And it looks like the books are fighting back in order to escape the possible flames..... 26 Jan 2012 3:04pm Francisco Romero from Carbajal de la Legua, SpainHa! Fantastic. You have an avid reader and a hyperactive one. 26 Jan 2012 3:13pm CElliottUK from Reading, United KingdomThe cup and the book are moving-how the hell did you do that?!Astonished of Reading! 26 Jan 2012 3:38pm @CElliottUK: I can call give a demo with the front of your house, Mr Chris - I advise you to have alternative accommodation available as the magnitude is unpredictable. (ARLO) Mirjam from Kyiv, Ukrainematches, tea cup and all the other details - nice image 26 Jan 2012 3:43pm Denny Jump Photo from Easton, PA, United StatesYah...Chris is right...how DID you do that motion blur thing? A remote shutter clicker thingy, I suspect,,,Perhaps the matches could be put to good use by burning all vestiges of history and living for today...you know, like the old song: "Whoa Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh, Live for Today">>>>> 26 Jan 2012 4:24pm Slackwater Don from Spokane, United StatesNice play on words. Another very good one! 26 Jan 2012 4:31pm @Slackwater Don: Thanks, Don. franz from Baden, Austriaone cup too many, it seems (instead of one glass or mug ...) ... poor arlo! i wonder who set the trap for him ... 26 Jan 2012 4:34pm Tamara from Aarschot, BelgiumPoor Arlo... (L&R) Hanry from Castricum, NetherlandsGreat title. Clever movement depicted. Superb text. 26 Jan 2012 10:12pm @Hanry: Thank you - the 'movement' was tough to make and we settled for a 'token' effort rather than pseudo-realism but it clearly got the idea over ! Thanks again, Hanry. (from Lilly) flyingwind风飞扬 from China, ChinaOne is queit and the other is naughty! I like this pair! 26 Jan 2012 10:20pm @flyingwind风飞扬: Oh, Bebe is so strict . . I am free-thinking and wild as the wind like you, Mr Wind. (ARLO) Dokmateo from Madrid, Spainhaha a very clever and genius composition! You two are fantastic and never stop amazing us with your original and very creative stories. Cheers to that! 26 Jan 2012 11:29pm @Dokmateo: We were saying the other day that the 'art' is not to think too hard about these compositions but just let them happen . . usually, that works ! (Lilly and Ronnie) B. Thomas from Arlington, Texas, United StatesI bet Arlo was trying to read about The Great Fire of London, The Great Chicago Fire or maybe the San Francisco Earthquake Fire of 1906 - or... maybe even The Burning of Rome in 64AD. He does not own a fiddle, does he??? 27 Jan 2012 12:50am @B. Thomas: Strangely enough, ARLO has a charred and ancient book mentioning all those events - with written annotations ! (Ronnie-at-the-Pump) Rick from Toronto, CanadaA fantastic post. I hope no one was seriously injured. (and I don't mean from reading) 27 Jan 2012 12:52am @Rick: Oh, Arlo is a survivor, no worries. Lilly says Bebe's foot fell off but, other than that, no emergencies ! (Ronnie) Tara from Los Angeles, United StatesHAAHAHAHAH. Oh, brilliant composition and description. Made me smile. 27 Jan 2012 1:07am @Tara: Smiling is good for us all, Tara ! (L&R) Nitin from Shanghai, ChinaOne of your best Ronnie! Love this composition and the different postures that look all too comfortable. Arlo looks so 'at-home' in his position - I think he's used to the weight of history - poor soul - so much responsibility on him. The hopes of an entire nation rest on his little head. Great way to start my day here! :P Cheers! 27 Jan 2012 2:57am @Nitin: Smiles, thanks for all those appreciative thoughts, Nitin . . we really do not know where these ideas come from - but, as long as they keep arriving, we don't bother too much ! (Lilly and Ronnie) Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesArlo with matches again! Good thing he got clobbered. 27 Jan 2012 4:01am @Steve Rice: Yes, sadly, I got struck before I could strike, Mr. Steve. (ARLO) kiwisa from North Shore, New ZealandLOL - history weighs heavily on poor old Arlo:) 27 Jan 2012 4:55am Monique from Koh Samui, ThailandWhahaha, so funny! Poor Arlo, but if Bebe is anything like me she forgets the world around her while reading :) Buy a e-reader Arlo, it's less dangerous ;) Have a great weekend guys! 27 Jan 2012 6:37am @Monique: Thanks, Monique, for all your visits and Comments - have a great weekend ! (L&R) PRASHANT from Mumbai, IndiaMy favorite Hero is back....great action shot with blur effect..Good job. 27 Jan 2012 6:42am @PRASHANT: Yours support is appreciatied, Mr PRASHANT! (ARLO) Bill Brown from California, United StatesThis is an incredible display of your creativity. Great job! 27 Jan 2012 7:10am @Bill Brown: It is often a sad moment when we dismantle the 'set' for these . . but I am actually reading Churchill's History of WW2 ! (Ronnie) Monik from PARIS, France.. Renversant... l'excès de thé est dangereux aussi...! ;-) 27 Jan 2012 7:38am @Monik: . . et l'excès ARLO ! (Ronnie) Anita from West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United StatesPoor Arlo--no wonder he is feeling weighed down--look at what he is reading! Despite the impressive titles on Lilly's side, I'm guessing she is reading a mystery. 27 Jan 2012 12:15pm @Anita: . . it might be 'The Lives of The Trees' she's reading ! (Ronnie) Anita from West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United StatesA seamless combination of images! Would love to know how you two work together. 27 Jan 2012 12:22pm @Anita: Each posting tends to be imagined and 'worked' in a different way. This one originated with ARLO actually being knocked down from his usual 'perch' by a falling book. From that, we exchanged 'working sketches' and agreed a little set to photograph. I happen to be reading the 12 volumes of Churchill's WW2 history so we used those with two of Lilly's books you see. There are four separate images used in the blend and six layers combined. (Ronnie) jpla from St Barthélémy d, FranceAmusant ! Je te souhaite une agréable journée 27 Jan 2012 1:36pm hugo poon from hong kong, Hong KongHow on earth can words of wisdom be such entertaining and joyfully presented?!!! "History is in our roots." So true, the roots are embedded and concealed though... Love this very much - one of my recent favourites! Amazing work!:-) 27 Jan 2012 3:46pm @hugo poon: Thank you, Hugo ! We try to make this stuff as 'international' as possible but it still amazes and pleases us how we get such wide coverage and responses . . . (Lilly and Ronnie) Adela Fonts from Barcelona, SpainVery good my friend ... Smart and funny commentary. The boys are back ... ! Best regards Ronny&family! Thanks! Adela 27 Jan 2012 9:36pm @Adela Fonts: Thanks for the encouragement, Adela - appreciated. Have a good weekend. (L&R) RBL from Oxford, United StatesOh, this is hillarious! We need a little ornery (Arlo) in our lives -- this is what makes us laugh! 27 Jan 2012 10:06pm @RBL: Thanks, RBL - enjoy the weekend ! (Lilly and Ronnie) Gemma Wiseman from Melbourne, AustraliaA cute and adorable image! Not only fun but artistic with the whisper of shadow for depth! 27 Jan 2012 11:35pm Julie DiCarlo from Austin, United StatesLOL! And ah the days when the world's knowledge could be contained "Complete in One Volume". I love it. Nicely done Lilly and Ronnie, I'm enjoying getting to know your blog. 28 Jan 2012 4:50am @Julie DiCarlo: We envy you on that learning curve at O2S - must be strange to discover at this point ! Thanks, Julie. (Lilly and Ronnie) Bettina from Los Angeles, United StatesLol, this is fabulous! Very funny. The weight of history can crush you! 28 Jan 2012 5:32am Akaruiphoto from Kagoshima, JapanYes I understand Arlo, the weight of history is sometimes too heavy. It would be nice to be able to deleted part of it. 28 Jan 2012 6:39am Albert from Sweden, living in Hamburg, GermanyArlo is clearly not taking this serious, just messing around in the library. Things like that doesnt happen if you only sit down and read. A great and funny image! Good work with the motion blur. 28 Jan 2012 8:42am Zorilla from H, T & E, United KingdomThe weight of knowledge is a heavy burden to bear... so I'm told. 28 Jan 2012 11:52am @Zorilla: I guess that explains why I seem to travel so light, Z . . enjoy the w/e. (Ronnie) grouser from Ludlow, United KingdomScrolling back I find that there is poetry in Moat ion oh green fingered ones. This is the key to open the doors to success, but you must be cognisant and watch out or you will become a book end and a footnote in history. 28 Jan 2012 12:10pm @grouser: Grouser !! They have clearly put you back on the full meds . . . this is good news for the civilized world if only it knew it ! (Footnote Ronnie) kash from Barcelona, SpainGran composición. Imágenes quietas y en movimiento, buen contraste. Me gusta :) 28 Jan 2012 12:46pm Susan from Sausalito, United StatesTo think, a tiny tea cup can crumple the weight of history....send it all akimbo. 28 Jan 2012 6:02pm Tede from Aubenas 07, FranceCrushed by the weight of history, it is not common!! Superb interpretation. Good day. 28 Jan 2012 6:11pm |
