annora from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysialove these combination.and the humor alongside it.=) 28 Mar 2008 11:09am Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesI agree with annora. The yellow chairs add just the right touch. 28 Mar 2008 12:13pm @Suzanne Labbé: (from Ronnie 2¢) Thank you, Suzanne. Yes, the sculpture in my part of the image is in Bond Street, London and called ‘Allies’ (1995) by Lawrence Holofcener. The work shows FDR and Winston, right, seated on the bench. Florence from Paris, FranceA funny juxtaposition indeed. You've got great eyes, both of "view" ! :-) 28 Mar 2008 4:50pm yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greecevery funny and perfectly captured - great work 28 Mar 2008 4:55pm danthro from Suburbia, United Statescool parallel compositions yet again, and yet again L's shot looks much more relaxed. Are the two people depicted on the bench statues of anyone in particular? 28 Mar 2008 7:59pm @danthro: (from Ronnie 2¢) The sculptures are of Roosevelt and Churchill . . although I didn’t find the likeness of Churchill all that convincing. Tracey from Baltimore, United StatesYou are a master at not only photography, but humor as well... LOL! 28 Mar 2008 9:36pm Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesThe yellow seats just crack me up! Perfect ... 28 Mar 2008 10:10pm Shrig from North East, United StatesI like those chairs in the shot as well. Nicely captured and great conversation they have between them :) 28 Mar 2008 10:24pm bronzebilly u.k. from Barry,Vale of Glamorgan, United KingdomExcellento ...!!,pals...great humour on this creation..luvs the bench comparison... 28 Mar 2008 11:41pm Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaThey probably left because the yellow seats were a little dirty ;D. Another great contrast Ronnie. Not sure where you come up with all the ideas, but they are really incredibly good. 29 Mar 2008 5:44am Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaVery neat parallel captures and funny dialoque. Great fun! 29 Mar 2008 5:47am Rhys from Darlington, United Kingdomnice work, great idea. (I recognised Churchill but not FDR!!). 29 Mar 2008 6:42am Nishana Minhaz from Calicut, Indiathank god i can atleast make out these are two different pictures.. :) the last one was so seamless! great idea and good humour to go along with it.. 29 Mar 2008 8:18am ajoeh from Mataram, Indonesialol.. always come with great idea and concepts. thanks for sharing 29 Mar 2008 11:04am GJC from Kyoto, JapanVery humorous, only it looks like the two went to get a soda quite some time ago, given the state of the empty chairs. But I like how you found the pairs here and then paired those together. Very well seen. 29 Mar 2008 11:35am Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesI also think the Churchill likeness is off. At first glance I wondered who he was supposed to be and thought: who would the Brits go to the trouble of bronzing like this? and as it's too early for Tony Blair, it must be Winston. Still, I wasn't convinced until I realized the figure on the left was FDR. I also notice from the background that that Frank and Winny seem to have rather upscale sensibilities. 29 Mar 2008 3:32pm Gary from Cochise County, United StatesThat whole presentation was pretty creative. Nice work. 30 Mar 2008 12:01am drphoto from Newcastle upon Tyne, United KingdomNow you two already know how much I love your work. Still, I have to admit, I often have fun trying to spot the join or the flaws that reveal it. Well I have found my first one today! The two darg grey squares near the center of the shot look like they are clones. Of course, you made it too easy putting it in the middle like that =Dp Dan 30 Mar 2008 5:31am @drphoto: (from Lilly and Ronnie 2¢) lol . . thanx, Dan! We did not set out to fully ‘blenge’ our shots but it happened naturally with “Comfort Zone” on March 12 and first went full-blown with “Tread Carefully” on March 15. Artistically, we tend to prefer the less deceptive ‘mirroring’ such as earlier seen in “Almost Nine” where the original photographs remain intact. Jarrard from Athens, GA, United StatesCool combo. I almost wonder, though, if I don't like it better with an obvious separation of the two photos. You're certainly making me think! 31 Mar 2008 3:12am Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaAnother brilliant idea with a great contrast between the halves. 31 Mar 2008 10:21am Margie from Auckland, New ZealandBrilliant. I love your blog, the photos are very cool and I love the titles and the Ronnie and Lilly exchanges. Fabulous! 21 Apr 2008 8:06pm Amr Tahtawi from Cairo, EgyptWho knows..maybe they really are talking to each other. 22 Apr 2008 12:21pm |
