Garibaldi from Sala al Barro, ItalyGreat composition, really nice light on the quarter that creates a beautiful contrast with the old bill. I like the red/pinkish tones here. Wonderful! 1 Apr 2008 12:49pm Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesGreat stuff ... I just checked the exchange rates – a dollar-and-a quarter is worth 2 halfpennies ... :+( 1 Apr 2008 1:34pm @Ron: (from Ronnie 2¢) . . lol . . it sure is heading that way, Ron ! Crazy times. Rhys from Darlington, United Kingdomanother great shot, how have you lit the shot on the left? 1 Apr 2008 2:41pm @Rhys: (from Lilly) Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesYa know, a quarter here is also known as "two bits." In high school we used to have a cheer that went: "two bits, four bits, six bits, a dollar, all for the Tarpons stand up and holler." The "Tarpons" was the name of our football team, and I'm not claiming that the cheer made any sense, or that I support mindless cheering. 1 Apr 2008 2:59pm yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greeceyou captured very well both images - very bautiful light and colors 1 Apr 2008 4:09pm Rabbit from Richmond, United Statesoooo look like someone is tying their money down so it doesn't fly away or maybe so its a bit harder to fly out of your hand & get spent. 1 Apr 2008 4:21pm alex centrella from Califronia, United Statesgreat lighting on both images..nice work ! 1 Apr 2008 4:23pm Tracey from Baltimore, United StatesThe lighting in both is amazing. Very interesting and creative, I like it :) 1 Apr 2008 7:46pm danthro from Suburbia, United Statesnice tones, color and light on both. i take it the dollar wasn't very strong in comparison to the pound in the 40s either? interesting L doesn't have any cents -- i heard they were decommissioning the penny. 1 Apr 2008 8:00pm @danthro: (from Ronnie 2¢) The exchange rate was around US$4.00 to the British Pound back in 1943 so, yes, an old ‘halfpenny’ was roughly equivalent to one US cent. Today, that same coin would be worth half that now that the exchange rate is only US$2.00 to the GBP. Suzanne Labbé from Granby, CanadaRon, you have this great capability of putting me a large smile on my face after a very long and exhausting day of work. Bravo !
