Lilly : I wish gas prices were stuck at $2.99 like this old pump.
Ronnie : Gas is 110.9 pence per liter here today but that amounts to $8.31 per US gallon!

Prices have been shooting up here in Canada, up 40% this past year, we should all just stop driving.

Changing times hey Ronnie, or is it only the UK that has changed..? Great comparison shot, good work.

@Observing: : (from Ronnie) Thanks, yes, when Lilly and I discussed this one and I took my part of the shot, there was no strike, shutdown, shortage or rationing! Things can happen fast.
Scary Scary image...hate looking at my gauge when it lights up it's time to fill up again!!! Great shots, sign of the times!

All in all it's the end of the oil era. Well done shots!

New pump, new prices! Nice comparative shot!

Oil price is never down once it is up so high, here. :/ Nice comparison shot!

Oil price will continue to go up in the future which is good for the oil producers countries...but not for the consumers. I haven't seen an old pump like this one since a very long time.

True enough... I passed a station recently that had 2.95 posted and remarked to my wife that I should stop and fill up... She immediately pointed out that it was closed and I was an idiot.. :-) Looks like the only gas I'll have for a while will be from beans.

I love your work. Such good ideas.

The one on the left looks sort of like the pump at the plant where I work --but this one is in much better condition. My wife and I had this same conversation yesterday, with me saying the price in Europe must be pretty close to $10 a gallon. Guess I was a little off.

Another great old and new shot

Relevant and visual. Great combination yet again.

We are all feeling it! Great shots...

$8.31 a gallon! And I thought $4.00 was bad. Great comparison.

@CRFoto: : (from Ronnie) Since publishing this pic, it has got worse. A strike in the oil industry here is producing shortages and panic buying . . prices are on the up!
Pretty outrageous prices. Ours in Canada is $1.29 a litre. I guess we all better start walking. Great picture Ronnie.

Love how the left side says "Clearly Better."

I promise I'll never complain about the price of gas (which is $3.65/gal today) again. EVER. Wonderful photo though!

I need a closer job. (thanks for reminding me)
28 Apr 2008 10:27am
i like this. i think i would prefer getting my gas at R's station, but L's gas pump has more character :)
28 Apr 2008 10:59am
i take that back, just saw the price difference!!! 8.31?! I paid 3.82 yesterday and i was very upset about it!
28 Apr 2008 11:00am
a very creative diptych - I like the game with old new and prices

"Gasohol"?

@Doug: (from Lilly) You just never know what you're going to find in small-town USA!
Old and new :)

Well, that certainly puts USA gas prices in perspective!

I like this shot. It's clever (like the photoblog) and it speaks to me of many contrasts apart from the obvious country ones. Great job! Cool concept.
