Lilly : sometimes, I take this longer route because it gets away from the traffic
Ronnie : yes, me, too .. . but, hey, I never noticed that green and the church over there . . : [ New Visitors might need to know that this is composed of two images taken 4,000 miles apart : you can see the two source images before blending here. ]

Wo, this is waaaaay too good! I looked around for the L+R to make sure these are two images and though I found it, I still can't believe my eyes! Awesome work! How do you do this?? :o
3 May 2008 10:58am
@Nishana Minhaz: : (from Ronnie) thanks, Nishana. You can see the two source images before blending here.
(From Lilly) I'm going to have to say I'm pretty amazed at this, myself. But then all of you know that Ronnie is the one behind the masterful image blending. I just come up with an occasional idea and take the photos when he tells me. :) I asked him if I could comment on our own image! It's really amazing.
Great shot Ronnie, the colors are really natural looking. Where about is it taken...?
3 May 2008 12:12pm
@Observing: : (from Ronnie) My shot was taken in south-west London. Lilly took hers about 4,000 miles to the west!
Great blending. The homeowners have a much better view now than before.
3 May 2008 12:31pm
@Tim Sutherland: : (from Ronnie) I agree about their actual view, yes, but one of those places sold for over $4 million earlier this year. Stupid prices.
Love it. The first thing I thought when I checked my blogwatch was "Yay, they're back!" And I totally agree with Nishana - this is amazing. Well done guys!
3 May 2008 12:48pm
Amazing post processing work, and thanks for the link to the original images - that helps a lot to appreciate even more the work you have done.
3 May 2008 12:49pm
Ronnie, you are a master at blending. This is the best one yet. I looked back at the original pictures. Wow, it is amazing what one can do with the editing programs. Can we believe anything we see now. This is by far a prettier pathway then the original. Excellent work.
Thats great
3 May 2008 12:58pm
I am in the middle. Completely unable to decide. Fantastic work.
3 May 2008 1:03pm
yes ....amazing post processing...very cool:)
3 May 2008 1:17pm
I will never comprehend how you two get the pictures to be so close! Love it!
3 May 2008 2:17pm
nice colour and great composition. I DO like unbusy route, too.
3 May 2008 2:24pm
Terrific tale ... beautiful work ...
3 May 2008 3:19pm
Almost seamless... very well done.
3 May 2008 3:43pm
Aw now come one,pals..this creation is way too much for me to take in, in one visit ,I'll be back later.. Billy...
3 May 2008 6:19pm
Wow! looks like a whole image, and after seeing the separate images, it still looks like one image to me, the blending is so well done
3 May 2008 7:54pm
It's been said above, yet I'll say it again...flawless work! Wonderful image and the blending is spot on.
3 May 2008 8:42pm
great one. at first i didn't realize this was your blog and i thought it was one image! love the colors.
3 May 2008 9:00pm
very nice shot
4 May 2008 1:26am
My Goodness, This is incredible. Very impressive.
4 May 2008 4:05am
@Gary: : (from Ronnie) Thanks, Gary! Lilly and I were saying yesterday that it is difficult to believe that this 'place' in the image does not actually exist!
Absolutely amazing work! When are these available in book form?
4 May 2008 7:22am
This site is amazing and original. I have been looking at some of the images and I read the 'about' section, so I know who you are (L + R). What I would like to know: do you come up with an idea beforehand and who comes up with it? L or R or either? Is it a spontaneous decision? Do you one day just decide to shoot two streets and then put them together?
4 May 2008 7:38am
@Elspeth: : (from Ronnie) wow . . thanks for your supportive Comments, Elspeth! I cannot explain where our key ideas come from but, once we have one, we exchange notes and sometimes a sketch and go looking for what we need to make it work. The more we do, the easier it gets . . or, that’s the theory!
a very well composed diptych - excellent work
4 May 2008 9:32am
Wow, you did an incredible job with putting these two together!
4 May 2008 11:51am
Great picture and looking at the original pictures has only deepened my respect for your skill.
Dan
4 May 2008 1:11pm
You really make me want to learn photoshop...
4 May 2008 2:10pm
@Jarrard: : (from Ronnie) I sure learned a thing or two doing this one! Thanks for stopping by.
A skillful blend of an idea with two images. Excellent image work, the two images are well chosen for this technique, and the result has been expertly created.
4 May 2008 5:08pm
O.K. pals I'm back...and I can only sit and stare at this superb creation..it's so impressive that I'm awarding you the Billy Oscar(I only wish I had two,so you'll have to share, sorry pals) for ingenuity..great work,pals.. Billy..
4 May 2008 7:14pm
@bronzebilly u.k.: (from Lilly) Oh, we don't mind sharing. :)
Great job. Once again you have done a wonderful job of showing us two worlds very far apart and yet still so the same.
4 May 2008 10:14pm
wow! I wouldn't have guessed that it was a composite. I love your creativity.
5 May 2008 12:52am
great to see the two pre-blended shots - I'm quite amazed, especially with this one as the join really creates a new reality
5 May 2008 2:27am
Well done. An extremely pleasing image you have created!
5 May 2008 6:44am
so well blended! and traffic IS evil!
5 May 2008 10:42am
I must admit the results of the blend look so natural that if it wasn't pointed out one would thing this to be a single photo. And a very well composed on at that ! Nice work to the both of you .
5 May 2008 11:27am
wow. i am amazed! great work L & R! one of my faves! :)
5 May 2008 12:23pm
A very good blend it is. My first glance had me disoriented and thinking it was a real place. I was even ready to comment about how the architecture is a blend of American and British styles, with the American style prevailing --slightly. Then I realized where I was.
5 May 2008 3:32pm
@Twelvebit: : (from Ronnie) thanks, Twelvebit! We sometimes have trouble remembering where we are, too . . and this one does have an uneasy reality about it.
Everyone has already commented on the blending, so I'll leave that aside as well-trod ground. But I think we shouldn't ignore the concept itself of creating a joint space from two different places. Of course the technical skills are outstanding, but this blog would only be a display of technical skills if there wasn't also in the images an intriguing and careful thinking through of relationships (both personal and of space). So I want to compliment you both not just on PS skills, but on continuing to develop an idea about how to think of spaces and people conjoining and converging that I think is really fresh and very exciting to see. Thanks again for sharing.
5 May 2008 5:33pm
@GJC: : (from Lilly and Ronnie) Thank you for your exceptionally kind words, GJC. We remember our first thoughts in forming O2S but we had no idea where it would lead or how it would develop our skills and deeply affect our whole approach to this part of photography.
O2S is something of an experiment and some of the ideas will succeed and some might fail but we are appreciative that so many of you fellow-photographers have come along for the twisting ride!
a wonderful image...photography has so many possibilities...
5 May 2008 7:15pm
Very amazing editing! You are very talented!
5 May 2008 10:28pm
That sound is my jaw dropping to the floor.
We are not worthy.
6 May 2008 1:54am
Blended as beautifully as notes sung by a talented opera singer. Even love the last little detail of your L&R look as if it was written in chalk on the joined walkways.
6 May 2008 5:30am
this is an amazing creation very cool
6 May 2008 5:58am
Fabulouso! The way the 2 photos were blended is excellent, and I love the result.
6 May 2008 6:08am
This is a great composition and merging of the two locales. It is seamless between the two. I like this new "scenery" better than the original. :-)
6 May 2008 9:27am
@Steven: : (from Ronnie) Thanks, Steven. And, yes, we thought it looked a real nice place to move to!
Excellent composing!
6 May 2008 2:20pm
Impresionante todo tu trabajo. Imágenes y más imágenes. Muy bueno. Gracias por tu visita y comentario.
6 May 2008 2:44pm
Goodness! this is incredible work!
6 May 2008 6:44pm
that's pretty damn cool! but what happens if the couple steps off of the sidewalk and into the companion universe?
7 May 2008 5:16am
@djedfre: : (from Ronnie) . . . each time they cross that line, they enter another universe but can never return from whence they came . . Thanks, djedfre
incredible!
7 May 2008 6:48am
Excelente composición con una luz muy bien trabajada y equilibrada.
7 May 2008 2:36pm
Wonderful composition and those colours... Excellent work
7 May 2008 7:12pm
Yes... you needed to point out to new viewers that this is a composite image. This is the most brilliant example of such that I've ever seen!
10 May 2008 4:33pm
@Andrew Gould: : (from Ronnie) . . true on that need, Andrew. This one is kinda deceptive!
Amazing! i love that we can see the original shot! So well done!
