Lilly : Did you get your hair cut like I told you? Ronnie : Er . . no, they were closed when I got there.

May I introduce € in this conversation?! :))) Well, here in Lisbon I have my haircut just for €7,00. However, this is just in common barber shops. In the shoppings there are the modern hairdressings where the prices are most expensives (about €20,00). Your pictures are amazing. Always giving interesting details about lifestyles contrasts. Congratulations!

@Camiller: : (from Ronnie) All kind words and currencies gratefully accepted! My barber, Chris, is Greek so Euros will suit him just fine!
Another cool piece of photoshop magic, mixed with a wicked idea, and presented with both humour and skill.

As usual, so well put together and so clever!

Cool image Ronnie, I always try to decide which image I like the best L or R. In this case it dosen't matter because my head is alway's a Nr1
10 May 2008 6:26pm
I'm definitely going in on the right!! What's a proper man's haircut cost in the London?
10 May 2008 8:10pm
@Ron: : (from Ronnie) In there, Ron, I can get a trim for just $13 but there are places offering to 'relax' my hair for $150 !
150$ hewwwww... I wanna chip one, too :P
10 May 2008 8:27pm
Whoa!! Talk 'bout high standards of living! Here, there are places where you can get haircuts for just 25 rupees.. Such places are rare, but they do exist. 1$ is around 40 rupees, in case u wanna know :)

another nice combination - excellent colors
11 May 2008 7:44am
I pay £7.50 including a beard-trim (that's pensioners rate) around the equivalent of $15. I could get it done locally for about £4 - in a city though I'd expect to pay at least £10. What I notice about the photos is the lh pole is white, red and blue whilst the rh is red and off-white.

@sithenah: : (from Ronnie) . . You are right about those colors! I guess the colonists are more patriotic than us these days! But, come to think of it, Chris the Barber is Greek!
I like this. Its somewhat simple, but very entertaining for the eye.
11 May 2008 12:24pm
It's true that I rather prefer the simple façade of Barber Shop, but if I were a man I definitely would choose Chris. Because he's modern and stylist...:)) Nice discussion about prices all over the world and again a very interesting picture.

Your definitely a pro at blending those images ! Personally I've been avoiding the barber for years now .
11 May 2008 12:38pm
I'm pretty sure that sign says "open", but then you just might not be telling Lily the truth again ;D. Another great blending of two pictures. Just looking at Nishana and sithenah's comments about the cost of hair cuts. Guess I'll have to take a trip to your hair stylist as I will pay $30.00 for my hair cut on Tuesday!!
11 May 2008 12:57pm
@Marion: (from Lilly) I pay $15 but always give her $20. I don't go very often, but she always does just what I like....and tries to fix my hair when I ruin it.
Nice one again! You are quite amazing!
11 May 2008 2:19pm
I'll certainly take the one on the left... Get it cut and get out.. :-)
11 May 2008 2:50pm
Now that you mention it, I haven't had a haircut in a while either, thanks for the reminder... The one in R's shot looks more like a place you get your hair cut, for L's--what kind of hair salon doesn't have any windows, it looks almost boarded up
11 May 2008 8:47pm
I just shave my head every couple of months and call it good. Interesting comparisons though, as always.
12 May 2008 12:15am
Well! As well as the usual entertaining L & R photo we have an interesting discussion about the cost of hair cuts around the world. Fabulous. I love it!
12 May 2008 12:35am
Very nice shot , Great Idea :)

I believe barbers will be left without a job in the near future in Japan! The young men nowadays wear a strange hairstyle: bird's nest! I asked my young student (he's a fresh 22) and he confessed he never combs his hair! I was in shock for some moments! As for myself, I prefer barbers to haistylists!
12 May 2008 3:33am
both a open if you have a lot of time at hand and don't mind reading old mags go into the left shop.
12 May 2008 4:11am
Love the contrast. I'd go for the one on the left. solid simplicity!
12 May 2008 6:59am
Great shot
12 May 2008 12:00pm
Ahh - a reminder that I am in need of a good trimming. Soon though SOON.
12 May 2008 12:25pm
the one on the left looks more like a bar, on the right it looks modern for the sixties. I pay $10 for a cut which is actually on the low side.
12 May 2008 12:50pm
A brilliant blend of two different styles of Barber shops. On the subject of price :) I can't believe how reasonable the prices are around the world. Someone said $30, I'd gladly pay that, It would save me having to cut my own hair lol. Locally here, it's around £30 I think that's around $60!!
12 May 2008 3:48pm
Excellent blending of the two photos!
12 May 2008 5:07pm
Wowee L&R ..what a great snip(oops--stitch) on this image ,pals.. What's all this nonsense about paying over the odds for a decent haircut...all I do is wear my bobble hat to the barber's and he cuts around the base while it's still on tight..£2.50 job done..looks gorgeous also.*-)) Billybasincut...
12 May 2008 6:50pm
You are really getting good at this. I'm impressed.
12 May 2008 7:31pm
It's so many years I haven't be in that kind of shop... but I rather go on the right which has a more open feeling.
12 May 2008 7:51pm
I haven't been in one of these for ten years. I just cut my own hair. No fault of the blending job, but the difference in foreground perspective makes this a harder one to match.
13 May 2008 11:31am
i just got my haircut.and i can't believe the prices are so high for a haircut.gosh!i get my haircut for 8 ringgit. $1 is about 3.2 ringgit.yeah around there.but then again i get my haircut at a very low price if compared to other saloons in my area.
