: Lilly : Do you notice that railroad right behind these benches? Ronnie : Yes, if there was one here and I leaned back, I'd catch the 12:15 to York .

This is what I call "bench" marking ! :-)

Watching the deafening trains go by.

I don't know why but imagine the railroad in the middle, your benches at the right and lilly's at the left , back to back , with a pale boundry between the two . I've got used to see this one !

Excellent! I like this one :)

Fantastic

quirky and cute... nice job

Don't lean back, you might end up flat on your tosh. Another good one.

L's benches are for trainspotting. But why two in different sizes?
Caused a good deal of musing on my part... I think that's the point isn't it?

@Earnest: : (from Ronnie) You are not alone, Earnest. We puzzled over each other's benches in this one and used the word 'why?" rather a lot! Thanks for the Comment.
So nice! and nicely done!

A fun image and I got a laugh out of your dialoque.

So similar -- and yet different. A great image from your "parallel universes". What I'm curious about, though, is what the view would be like from each of these locations. Is there anything to be made out of that for us to see?

@Andrew Gould: : (from Ronnie) Thanks, Andrew. We were discussing the potential of exactly what you are thinking earlier today! Seats and benches are rich pickings for ideas like these.
cool shots. i think i actually like the benches in R's shot better, they have some character, not so much like those new generic looking ones they're using everywhere now.

Great diptych!

The chance of catching the 12.15 to York.... It was probably cancelled due to leaves on the line, so that bench is perfectly 'safe'.
Great idea and wonderful shot once again.

Ha - 2 is better than one is this case *especially the leaning back bit you speak of*

Nice!

great pairing
3 Jun 2008 8:56pm
I like the old vs. new aspect of this pairing. Does it mean anything that the new benches have turned their backs on that great 19th century mode of transportation, the train?
