: There's an old piano And they're playin' hot . . . behind the green door Don't know what they're doin' But they laugh a lot . . . behind the green door Wish they'd let me in So I could find out what's . . . behind the green door
Shakin’ Stevens, “Green Door”, 1981
We each went out looking for interesting things in our neighborhoods . . and came back with these green doors. 4000 miles apart. True. Lilly and Ronnie

i don't believe you. you didn't tell each other to look for a green door? or even something green? that would be a pretty cool coincidence though. anyway, amazing blending and color matching! also like the texture and shadows.

@danthro: : (from Ronnie) I guess no-one will believe it but we agreed no topic at all before we went shoot . . and we really did come back with those two. : (from Lilly) It really is true. I was working on my photo and he sent me his three photos from his outing (he took only three and I only took two) and my jaw dropped. We had a match without speaking of a topic or colour.
beautiful composition(s)

Overall an excellent composition. I like the tight crop and range of green. The different segments to the doors and two door handles make it interesting. Honestly your concept of "Two Sense" and profile are really creative. I have visited before and found you interesting. Keep up the excellent work.

Oh , another lovely image from you two . I thought you have taken too much photos and only one inside them has become too similar , but in two or three images it is so interesting . Like barbara , I love the tight crop and colors , and essentially finding the differences between the similarities makes your photos too interesting , Like the lock on Ronnie's side .

Dear Lilly and Ronnie,
All of your photos have such an incredible amount of interest and fascination to them, but this one takes the cake! It's difficult to believe that these doors aren't part of the same building, much less 4000 miles apart! I truly enjoy you photos and captioning, and the lyrics posted today brings back memories from my childhood. Thanks so much for the enjoyment you bring!

You two are in synch!! Love it! Fabulous color, textures, details. I don't comment on all your photos, but do look at them and enjoy them. Love your sense of humor reflected in the photos and dialogues. Do keep it up!!!

First of all, I have always loved that song. Now I'll be singing it for the next few hours!! My curiosty is aroused now. Where were you and where was Lily that you were 4000 miles apart to take these two pictures of old doors both the identical color? Your blended pictures never cease to amaze me. I really do love them.

@Marion: : (from Lilly) I was walking in the alley behind my house. This is an old garage door. : (from Ronnie) My shot was at a lock-up storage shed in London.

9 Jun 2008 12:57pm
Ha - that is GREAT! you two think so much alike where you twins separated at birth? And if not are you two at least dating? seems like you would agree on things easily ;D Talk about long distance relationship.
9 Jun 2008 1:44pm
@Rabbit: : (from Lilly) We are definitely NOT twins separated from birth, but we do have an amazing ability to connect with one another.. Dating? Well... if we let that cat out, where would the mystery lie? : (from Ronnie) I think there's something she's not telling me !
great timing.....fantastic work..

Fantastic image!

great! nice 'shadow bleed' to sell it - very convincing! but what's behind them? (sorry, couldn't resist...)
10 Jun 2008 4:05pm
Behind the Green Door means something entirely different to me. This image is so nicely matched that even though they shadows are trying, they're not really giving the game away.
12 Jun 2008 11:08am
Great shots!
13 Jun 2008 12:36am
If we didn't know that this was a composite image, how would we have guessed! Excellent!
13 Jun 2008 6:11am
No matter where it is, they never let me in!
16 Jun 2008 12:13am
Green door - I had the song in my head before I saw the lyrics - but Shaking Stevens? = the original was much earlier - Frankie Laine comes into my mind but it may have been someone else - late 50s or early 60s.
18 Jun 2008 3:10pm
The light is different but the colors make the harmonie.
19 Jun 2008 7:31pm
The doors are beautifully shot, but what makes the image more attractive is its story and the lyrics! I can truly say I love this one!
