More About the Sundials

There are dials on each of the four faces of the tower.

Assuming the sun is shining on a dial, a shadow from a ‘rod’ suspended over the dial falls on the face to enable the time to be calculated. Depending on the time of year, an adjustment is made of a few minutes by reading from the declination graph displayed at the base of the tower.
