jeff (aka dogilicious) from Millerstown, PA, United StatesThe proximity on the sidewalk is very odd but I guess no more odd than taking pictures of dead animals with you cell! 27 Jun 2009 12:56pm Chris from South Jersey, United Stateslife and death are all around us - hopefully we can appreciate life even while mourning the death..... 27 Jun 2009 1:57pm António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalWe know it ever since, but we never get used to the loss of a living being. 27 Jun 2009 2:38pm Ken from United Statesughh! I saw a similar image a few days ago, well only one and I couldn't bring myself to take a picture. :( 27 Jun 2009 3:09pm Nataly from Santa Monica, United StatesThe similarity of the location is puzzling. Sad, but a true image. On my trip in Argentina to the penguin island we observed the predators living along with their potential meal. My 4 year old stood for a while next to a still steaming but eaten open dead body of a wild duck. And it was very interesting to watch my kid`s brain working hard trying to understand the concept. And me, it was just amazing being on that small island representing all concepts of life. Week, strong, life, death, birth, free and wild, but unsafe... 27 Jun 2009 3:50pm Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainYes, this is a sad image, I can't say that I like it, but I understand the sense of the composition... 27 Jun 2009 5:28pm MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanySad, but such is life! That mummified frog is indeed more interesting than deplorable. 27 Jun 2009 11:34pm dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaThe similarity between the two shots is quite phenomenal. And life is indeed fragile, and sometimes sad. 28 Jun 2009 8:15am tyan from Singapore, Singaporei really admire how the spots where the animals died can look so similar.Reminds me of a cat run down by oncoming vehicle, its guts, internals all gushed out.Oops.i hope you werent eating as you read this!:) 28 Jun 2009 1:18pm Tracey from Maryland, United StatesReminds me of the dead baby bird I posted. It is strange they are in such a similar position. Well done! 28 Jun 2009 2:56pm Craig from Vacaville, California, United StatesIn my experience, death is rarely sweet. Thought provoking blog. 29 Jun 2009 1:12pm Barbara from Florida, United StatesGruesome yes, but well documented proof it doesn't matter what country you're in life still ends. 29 Jun 2009 5:02pm Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesI come upon these scenes once in a while. They remind me of how lucky I am to still be walking this beautiful planet no matter how I might be feeling personally. Sometimes I wonder what good (if any) comes of the beauty, the sadness, the joy, the struggle, and the sorrow. Frankly, I don't know and suppose I never will but the search for pieces of this cosmic puzzle will continue as it seems that's why we were made. This photo makes a great statement. 30 Jun 2009 12:44am bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaHow odd, the last breath of each creature taken in nearly the exact same pose. Life does seem cruel at times, but then I suppose that death is part of life and life part of death in this circle we live in. 30 Jun 2009 4:26am Monique from Koh Samui, ThailandSometimes they are so hard to avoid ... especially the frogs during rain season, you can't imagine the quantity that's hopping around the streets! Although very sad, I like these two pictures, they could have been taken on the exact same spot! 1 Jul 2009 5:56am Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesWhile I rarely see these particular subjects posed in death, I doubt I leave the house without seeing scores of similar scenes, and especially along our local roads --dogs, cats, deer, feral pigs, armadillos, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, and sometimes others. 1 Jul 2009 4:55pm Francesc B. from région parisienne, FranceTwo sad shots... but it's life... beautiful presentation. 5 Jul 2009 9:19am |
