Oh nicely done...

The best of both worlds!
I like how you have done this...I wonder which side the steering wheel would be on though, so it's hard to tell who's car it really is now, isn't it?
Another clever shot...truth be known, I've always wanted an old VW bug, but the
new ones are nice too :)

@bluechameleon: hee hee . . we were not even sure this would make much of an image, at first, but, now, we have thoughts of driving round in it ! What fun that would be. Thanks, Sharon.
I would also wonder which end the engine would be in with this type of hybrid? It actually could have two engines (or none)!!! Great shot and processing work....
15 Dec 2009 2:26pm
@Chris: Thanks, Chris . . it does start to make you think of all the combinations !
Seamless processesing (as usual)! We get the best of both worlds with this model. :)
15 Dec 2009 2:28pm
very well done
15 Dec 2009 4:52pm
I'm sure VW will buy the idea. It's definitely an original hybrid. For grandfather and grandson.
15 Dec 2009 5:30pm
@António Pires: Y'know, this has made me think I'd like to see the whole car . . could look really good on the road ! (Ronnie)
It really bugs me that I can't come up with any Beetle jokes.
15 Dec 2009 5:52pm
Wow, a good composition, is it real or your photographic work? :))
15 Dec 2009 7:46pm
@Paco Díaz: hee hee . . it does take on a sort of reality and looks ready for the street but it is no more than Photoshop, sadly. Thanks, Paco.
Very nicely done!
15 Dec 2009 8:56pm
A clever idea, very nicely executed, but I'll stick with my old bug if you don't mind.
15 Dec 2009 9:56pm
A very clever combo, and a very appealing hybrid.
I kept wanting to scroll up or down to see more of it.
Do you think there might be a market for it ? ;-)
15 Dec 2009 10:23pm
@Dulcie: You ask that in jest but, actually, a New Beetle with a pre-1998 wing front and rear would likely be a popular offering ! I’m sure the law would prohibit unmatched headlamps and rear lights on the one car, though . . sigh . . it would be such fun !
Looks like the 87,88,89 pickups the farmers around here drive.
15 Dec 2009 11:28pm
Very well done.... not much has changed other than the innards has it?
16 Dec 2009 12:09am
so cool and funny
16 Dec 2009 12:11am
The perfect hybrid if you ask me!
16 Dec 2009 12:25am
Have liscense plates not changed over the years? I love the old bugs myself.
16 Dec 2009 1:02am
Great old bug
16 Dec 2009 1:11am
This is a laugh! Brillant work again. But I'm not so sure you should be doing auto body work. You have fooled the eye again with interchangeable auto parts. They tell people to drink more water now we'll be buying bottled water for our cars.
I also like your presentation with the tight crop and drop shadow giving added dimension.
16 Dec 2009 1:27am
more new than old
16 Dec 2009 1:31am
Wow, you did a great job on assembling this cool looking car! I wonder how the front looks like? I loved the old beetle though, the new ones are to smooth, don't care if they are greener!
16 Dec 2009 3:42am
Wonderful, the work is flawless!
16 Dec 2009 5:07am
16 Dec 2009 5:22am
Very good job. The old Volkswagens was very popular and last very long, not sure about the new one. You may suggest them to build a mixture...
16 Dec 2009 5:36am
Cool hybrid, I'll definitely buy one.
16 Dec 2009 5:48am
hahaha, very good
16 Dec 2009 6:21am
Tremendous work. You ought to send this to Volkswagen; it may inspire them....
16 Dec 2009 7:44am
Masterful work again, do you think this design could incorporate a windmill on top....? I think you should send the imagine to VW
16 Dec 2009 7:55am
Wonderfully done folks! Makes me think of the conflicting descriptions witness on different sides of the road would give if this was a getaway vehicle, for example! Ronnie (and Lilly) - I am taking a break until the New Year, but would like to take this opportunity to wish you and yours a wonderful Festive Season. Take care. Really looking forward to see what you will get up to in 2010!
16 Dec 2009 8:55am
This is seamless!
16 Dec 2009 10:36am
Good morning Ronnie,
It is very interesting and funny at the same time, what I see. The good old Volkswagen with a new outfit. This design could be slight problems. I was also the owner of a Volkswagen. The problem was the heating. I could never leave. In the summer I always had hot feet. In rainy weather, I always had water in the footwell. It ran under the fenders to the car. Someone found the solution finally, and removed the issues arising. It was a
very interesting and fun time. I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and health.
Daer greetings Christel

The hybrid is perfect! I assume it combines the fun of the old Bug and the safety of the new!!
16 Dec 2009 11:40am
Superbly done ! Love the old one, can't bear the too-round new one, love yours !
16 Dec 2009 11:48am

(though i have to admit, i hate the new beetle as a car)
16 Dec 2009 1:57pm
This is a stunning hybrid, I don't know if I prefer the left or right side, maybe them both.
16 Dec 2009 3:20pm
Très bien réalisée cette coccinelle.............
16 Dec 2009 9:08pm
@philippe: Merci, Philippe. . this était amusement ! (Ronnie)
Great mix. Where do you come up with these ideas?
17 Dec 2009 12:00pm
@Viewfinder: We often ask ourselves that . . but never get an answer . . !
You've brilliantly achieved this juxtaposition Ronnie !
17 Dec 2009 1:15pm
17 Dec 2009 4:42pm
singular ladybug !
17 Dec 2009 11:29pm
17 Dec 2009 11:36pm
Now this is a true hybrid VW, so captivating can't help but stare at this fascinating image. Excellent capture.
18 Dec 2009 2:16am
@John Maslowski: Thanks, John. Yes, I find myself trying to visualize the whole car after doing this . . maybe we will have a go at that ! (Ronnie)
Love the dialogue, fits so well with this car without any symmetry :) Cool Capture !!
18 Dec 2009 2:27pm
Is this what happens when fine German engineering is put into the hands of Americans and Brits?
18 Dec 2009 10:37pm
19 Dec 2009 12:00am
You did a facelift on one side ? :) Congratulations !
19 Dec 2009 4:50am

21 Dec 2009 1:57pm
Now that's bloody clever,pals...
22 Dec 2009 12:16am
Love the image... but will it pass a roadworthiness test next time round???
30 Jan 2010 10:07pm
What an idea :-) I owned one similar to the left part of that hybrid centuries ago
30 Apr 2011 5:36pm
A great shot of this timeless icon and its evolution with the years!
18 May 2011 2:23pm
