Watch out for the bee, it's going to steal the honey!
29 Mar 2011 6:21am
Taking me a while to suss this one out ;-)
29 Mar 2011 7:45am
"Out of the eater came forth meat and out of the strong came forth sweetness" is part of the oldest brand in the UK-for what? (Umm, the hint is your picture!)
29 Mar 2011 9:17am
@CElliottUK: ahhhh . . Lyles Golden Syrup ! And still on the shelves, too ! (Ronnie)
From Wiki : The 1904 design for Lyle's trademark comes from Abram Lyle’s religious beliefs: it’s a reference to a story in the Old Testament, in which Samson killed a lion, then saw that bees had formed a honeycomb in the lion’s carcass. Thus, “Out of the strong came forth sweetness”. The logo and design remain unchanged today.
one has to work really hard to run a healthy lifestyle i know it from experience
now i have to go and find some frozen stuff 'cos it's lunchtime
29 Mar 2011 10:53am
Is that a Bee... ha ha lol. I don't mind yogurt, don't like honey and hate Lyles Golden Syrup, so do you (or Lilly) have an alternative to get healthy....? Maybe I'll just go for the yoghurt, with sweetners and flavours :0
29 Mar 2011 11:32am
Mix the whole lot together in a blender, chill for two hours and spread on top of your favourite sponge cake.
29 Mar 2011 11:37am
@Curly: ok . . done that . . the bee gave the spread a kinda speckled look, too. Thanks for that. (Ronnie)
You know it is good tasting honey when a bee is present. I can't get over that "no reply"... :) Excellent fun-post.
29 Mar 2011 2:17pm
A very interesting concept with photographic elements that set it off very well. Excellent.
29 Mar 2011 3:04pm
OMG... you even managed to make a bee pose for you! And you called this Basic?!!! I'm wondering what's next! Thank you again for the wonderful amusement! Wishing you a very healthy Tuesday!:-)
29 Mar 2011 3:07pm
@hugo poon: Thank you, Hugo. I had a look at the Fuji FinePix X100 today . . very nice but a bit pricey in the UK - £1,000 / US$1,600 locally . . . lovely camera, though.
@tataray: L'abeille a été très coopératif! (Ronnie)
Hahaha... well done ! I love honey, wonderful ! Have a lovely day :)
29 Mar 2011 4:20pm
We can understand all other collections for this presentation ... But you managed to get a bee there ...
Great efforts and fine humor ... Love it :)
29 Mar 2011 4:22pm
I understand everything in the image but the yogurt pot. Would someone explain the connection? I've never visited this page before and I feel pretty stupid, as I can see that these photographers have an enormous following. Help me not to feel like a total outsider!
29 Mar 2011 4:24pm
Hi and Helloe - Bill Laing gave me a coupon to visit your blog...definitely glad I did...May I return if I behave myself? I love your unique methodology and I also love the way you do stuff!
29 Mar 2011 4:37pm
Hay, cannot go wrong with Organic Honey. It is very 'fashionable' in the natural health world at the moment (or so my Wife tells me anyway!).
29 Mar 2011 4:47pm
LOL the bee gave it a speckled look! Thank you for that laugh!
29 Mar 2011 5:55pm
There is plenty of people that want to go back to basics. With such a demand we have to industrialize those "basics".
29 Mar 2011 6:07pm
@António Pires: You are right . . basics are no longer what they once were ! (Ronnie)
Only you guys could get a bee to pose for you!! Get the speed dial ready. ;-) Great shot.
29 Mar 2011 6:49pm
@B. Thomas: bzzzzzzzzzzzz . . .
"Bees don't sting unless you bully them"...... and I like my 40% fat turkish yoghurt:-))))))))))))
" is that a bee?" Lilly you're so lovely spontaneous...:-DDDDD
29 Mar 2011 6:51pm
Prepared for all occasions... Very funny ( and I am allergic to the little buggers)
29 Mar 2011 6:54pm
@Steve: . . then you know what's in that yellow box ! (Me too!! Lilly)
Love the instructions, the epi-pen and the bee, funny and scary at the same time...love it!
29 Mar 2011 7:13pm
No Reply...oh dear there could be some trouble...especially if you have eaten those speckles...
29 Mar 2011 7:36pm
@Mary: ha ha . . yes !! (Ronnie)
what a festival for the eyes!!! and what did you dooooo? photoshop that bee in?? surely it wasn't posing for you haha, your pictures are always sooo special!!!
29 Mar 2011 7:50pm
@Elaine-: In this case, the bee was actually standing there ! (Ronnie)
Love the "No reply"... how long did you hang on there...?
29 Mar 2011 9:40pm
@Daryl Johnson: lol . . those numbers are based around the researched real thing but have been changed so you don't go calling them ! (Ronnie)
I thought I was pulling up an advertisement. Very well done.
29 Mar 2011 9:45pm
@Suzanne: Yes, it does look that way. Happens because we have dialed in rather 'pure' lighting as is often used for food and health photography. Normally, we go for more punch or grunge on images here ! (Ronnie)
To be prepared for any opportunity (even the worst, for the allergy), it is good but here, it is the honey which interests the bee, not Ronnie, loll!!
Beautiful composition, technically very successful. Bravo to you two
29 Mar 2011 9:55pm
@brine: Thanks - yes, we liked how this one worked out ! (L&R)
Very very creative work! And more interesting is the phone No.!
30 Mar 2011 1:20am
Honey yogurt! I'm getting hungry right now! Beautifully done!
30 Mar 2011 2:20am
ROF! And after you've revived, try another "basic" -- a hand-patted hamburger, sizzled over coals, then draped with American cheese, and slapped onto a fresh poppyseed bun. Health and resilience ;p.
30 Mar 2011 4:26am
@rem_la: Idée anice Voilà! (Ronnie)
@Monique: You get a big smile for that, Monique ! (Ronnie)
Brilliant! It is ten PM and I'm sitting in my skivvies - laughing out loud. Be gentle with that bumble-bee.
30 Mar 2011 5:39am
@Stephen Phillips: 'No bees were harmed in the making of this posting' (Proprietors)
Elle ne se trompe pas ! Je te souhaite une agréable journée
JP
30 Mar 2011 7:18am
well didn't catch that, except perhaps that you like honey home made yogurt (like in Greece)
30 Mar 2011 7:47am
@Veronique: awwww . . I'm tempted to write the story but I bet I'd make it even worse . . hee hee . . love your Visits - enjoy the view ! (Ronnie)
A superb composition ! Bees are all of this : very good and dangerous but only for their self-protection !
30 Mar 2011 9:53am
@Mhelene: Yay, so true !! Thanks, Mhelene. (Ronnie)
Excellent ! There is even the pretty little bee !!! :o)
30 Mar 2011 10:43am
@Annie Viguié: Thanks, Annie ! That bees was real difficult to train, I tell you ! (Ronnie)
pain and pleasure, risk and reward, everything's here in this "to bee or not to bee" compo! ;-))
30 Mar 2011 10:55am
Does that mean you will be getting the honey from the hive? :)
30 Mar 2011 1:10pm
Oh, and you will have to make your own yogurt from scratch too!
30 Mar 2011 1:11pm
Missed this one yesterday; an amazingly creative story and photo. Giving up digitals and going back to bee-keeping, are you?
30 Mar 2011 1:52pm
oh honey, this one stings! :) Lily - please keep us informed on Ronnie's yogurt & bee adventure!
30 Mar 2011 3:25pm

30 Mar 2011 5:53pm
Your efforts here are phenomenal! You say above that the bee was actually there?!!! And your hands on the lid? You've really got me wondering how you achieved this - well done!
30 Mar 2011 7:04pm
@dobbino: Yup, the bee was right there with me at the shoot in person . . a very fine actor ! (Ronnie)
As always, I've a big smile on my face. :-)
30 Mar 2011 8:42pm

31 Mar 2011 8:12am
@k@: Thanks, Karine. This is one 'production' where neither of us can remember how we got started on it nor knew where it would take us ! (L&R)
Absolutely marvelous! Love the addition of the bee and Epi Pen!
31 Mar 2011 8:20am
They are so useful and are slowly dying averywhere around the world. A pity for us, and for the vegetal world as well.
31 Mar 2011 8:49am
@Florence: So true what you say and I am surprised there is not far more concern about what is happening . . the consequences could be cataclysmic, frankly. Sadly, the bee here is one of the casualties and I found it dead in the street while out on another shoot. In a way, it now lives forever, I guess. Bless. (Ronnie)
The bee wants to resume his property news you eat honey:) Good day, friendships.
31 Mar 2011 9:26am
Superb stuff. I love the natural look to the entire campaign kinda story here. Cheers and thanks for your comments and patronage! Cheers!
31 Mar 2011 4:42pm
Excellent! I had to laugh at the note by one of your emergency numbers :) I won't recommend you dial that number when that bee realises you aren't going to open the honey jar for him...
31 Mar 2011 8:22pm
@✿ Anina ✿: ha ha . . we had more than a few smiles working on this one, Anina . . and that bee has become world-famous ! Thanks for the giggles. (L&R)

4 Apr 2011 9:27pm
Im curious to know that whats in the bees mind for next? call his/her friends to bother you?!

5 Apr 2011 7:59am
That bumblebee won't do you any harm. Most of the time.
