A Matter of Time - When

A bit of background to my visit to the Monument to the Great Fire of London.

The Monument stands 202 ft (61.57 metre) tall and, yes, there really are 311 steps in there. The views out from the top are spectacular.

@RBL: Under 10 mins . . including two stops on the way up. There were people in some difficulty - its a tough climb. (Ronnie)

Thanks for the info Ronnie, history is one of my favourite fields. I didn't even think about that monument being hollow, an amazing achievement. And how did they get the statue up there.......... didn't you tell me you had vertigo ?

@Michael Fresh: Yes, dear old Chris Wren put a spiral stair in there and, up top, I was in a cage a bit like they keep me in at the home - so, no vertigo ! (Ronnie)
