Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesHe got you there Lilly! Pay up. This is a great one. O.K., all your stuff is great. 30 Jan 2012 5:03am Tracy from La Selva Beach, United StatesHmmmm.....$10 does not seem like enough for some folks I have met! But I think maybe the park rules are what's making folks grouchy! 30 Jan 2012 5:04am Monique from Koh Samui, ThailandYou've got to be kidding me, are those park rules for real?! Are you allowed to breath and walk on the grass? No wonder people get mean and irritable, I would be :)) 30 Jan 2012 5:17am @Monique: Actually, yes, they are real . . I was amazed myself when I took the shot ! (Ronnie) DULCIE from Danville, CA, United StatesOh, this is priceless, again !! 30 Jan 2012 6:03am @DULCIE: Thank you, Dulcie . . no charge for you today, Miss . . (Ronnie) Christine from Ellemford, United KingdomYou, trumped this morning Ronnie, maybe you should duck now :) 30 Jan 2012 7:03am @Christine: Feeling a little faint . . (Ronnie) tataray from france, FranceQue d'interdits .... il faut en + payer !... 30 Jan 2012 8:54am @tataray: Liberté à un prix ! Ro$$ie) Barbara from Auckland, New ZealandThis sign makes sense.. due to irritable and grouchy people visiting the parks previously, and channeling their irritability and grouchiness into the pigeons and squirrels, this made the pigeons and squirrels violent, so now calm and content people can not feed them due to the fear of being attacked.. :( 30 Jan 2012 9:20am @Barbara: Ohhh . . it makes sense, now - I should have asked you earlier and saved myself a lotta thinking . . hee hee . . hugs, Barbara ! (Ronnie) Curly from South Shields, United KingdomLook on the bright side, at least they allow you to deposit your unwanted children in the bin lol :-) 30 Jan 2012 9:37am gootchai from bousval, BelgiumMais que d'interdit!! c'est sûr moi je ne passe pas avec mes deux borders!! 30 Jan 2012 9:53am Adela Fonts from Barcelona, SpainOHHHH! wonderful read and an excellent set of images and words ... I'll pay what you ask ... buy peace and comfort! despite the prohibitions ... Ronny go together! but invites Lilly! just like... A hug! Adela 30 Jan 2012 10:00am CElliottUK from Reading, United KingdomMy dog does her poos in a neat circle, but never in a cross, so she'll be fine there 30 Jan 2012 10:26am grouser from Ludlow, United KingdomGrouser by name grouser by nature. Do you accept visa? 30 Jan 2012 10:43am @grouser: Step back, Mr. Grouser, sir . . Chris's dog just left something in that spot. (Warden Ronnie) k@ from Paris, FranceI know some who will have to pay a loooooot ;)) Super find & eye ! 30 Jan 2012 10:51am Doug from Burnham-on-Sea, United KingdomHa ha ha ! My Monday morning is complete, superb 30 Jan 2012 10:53am @yz: Thank you, Mr. Zoltán - no charge for you today, sir ! (Warden) Monik from PARIS, FranceHihihi... Une incitation à rester chez soi devant un beau documentaire, surtout en cette saison!;-) 30 Jan 2012 11:00am @Monik: Oui! - C'est une façon de le regarder! Amusez-vous ! (Lilly and Ronnie) @Aly: lol . . I'd not actually counted them but, as I say, they were for real ! Have a great day ! (Ronnie) Stephen from Canberra, AustraliaI am surprised - I picture Ronnie as a busker who arrives in the park on a skateboard and juggles a football while he plays! 30 Jan 2012 11:12am @Stephen: ha ha . . no, y're thinking of Zorro, Lilly's brother . . but he's 'away' right now. (Ronnie) António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalStrange world this is, to pay $10 for not being allowed to do anything and probably paying nothing to be allowed to do everything. 30 Jan 2012 11:25am hugo poon from hong kong, Hong KongIMO, this $10 charge is ridiculously cheap! But Ronnie wouldn't be grouching then!? The funniest sign I've seen... Thank you guys!:-) 30 Jan 2012 12:11pm Eric Cousineau from Sherwood Park, CanadaThat's one for the big guy! I see that Silly Tuesday comes early this week! ;-)) 30 Jan 2012 12:15pm Mhelene from Paris, FranceWow ...As if the panel has fangs ... I don't want to enter ...! Great find and beautifully captured ! 30 Jan 2012 12:46pm @Mhelene: Thanks, M . . . both signs are for real even though they are 4.000 miles apart ! (Ronnie) El pare from Prepirineu, AndorraRonnie, I can't imagine that you be an irritable man.... isn't it, Lilly? 30 Jan 2012 1:00pm Albert from Sweden, living in Hamburg, GermanyHaha, I will put up $10 sign in my office. Well all of the signs actually, just to be on the safe side. 30 Jan 2012 1:03pm Tamara from Aarschot, BelgiumHehe... At least you're sure that this place will not be over crowded :))) Have a great day :) 30 Jan 2012 1:10pm Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, Francean impressive collection of forbidden signs... are we back to the prohibition time ??? 30 Jan 2012 1:44pm Oiva from Turku, FinlandA lot of prohibitions and regulations, nice shot!Best regards oivatytto, haleja. 30 Jan 2012 2:11pm Marleen from Doesburg, NetherlandsGreat images and lines* and you saved the best for lest.... :-DDDDDDD 30 Jan 2012 2:23pm @Riccardo: Breathe ?? Only with a valid Permit, Riccardo ! (Warden Ronnie) Gary Hart from California, United StatesIt's always a pleasure to view your ironic juxtapositions. So much fun--thanks! 30 Jan 2012 2:56pm @Gary Hart: Thanks, Gary - have a great day ! (L&R) Tede from Aubenas 07, FranceAh! ah! I hope we have the right to walk in the park :)) Good day. 30 Jan 2012 3:57pm Sam from Chennai, IndiaAmazing. Wonderful park with so many rules. Great fun and humour. Lilly is right. Another creative presentation of great images 30 Jan 2012 4:18pm RBL from Oxford, United StatesThat's funny and who collects the money? Great post! 30 Jan 2012 4:41pm Lydia.Dd from de partout et de nulle part, FranceI think that the name of the park is Freedom ? 30 Jan 2012 4:57pm @Lydia.Dd: ha ha . . yes, only a government could decide something like that ! (Ronnie) Denny Jump Photo from Easton, PA, United StatesI have never seen a "No Skateboarding" symbol before...This sign is incrediblly "complete" in it's lack of tolerance...although, if it were to include a "Do Not throw your crappy Cigarette butts on my Lawn - it is NOT your Personal Ashtray" I would purchase one...As you can see, i was picking up the trash in my corner lawn today - Thank God it is a small plot...but I digress....Ronnie are you there? Ronnie? Ronnie?? 30 Jan 2012 5:25pm @Denny Jump Photo: As I've just Responded to Thierry in a poor version of his beautiful language, it is quite usual to see such bans in a London park these days - the only odd restriction relates to the feeding of squirrels. And, yes, the banning of smoking in all buildings open to the public has meant more smoking in the streets and gardens . . but 'they' are working on that, I do believe. (L&R) Daryl Johnson from Worcester Park, United KingdomI dunno... sounds peaceful to me. (I keep my whisky flask secreted up my jacket sleeve, strapped to my arm with rubber bands) 30 Jan 2012 7:17pm @Daryl Johnson: Rubber bands are classed as items 'having weapon potential' and subject to a 'List of Special Prohibitions', Daryl. Please sign the acknowledgement upon entry to the Park. (Warden Ronnie) Francisco Romero from Carbajal de la Legua, SpainHa, ha. Wouldn't it be a cemetery instead of a park? Fabulous find. 30 Jan 2012 7:18pm @Francisco Romero: On a separate and serious note, I read the other day that our Cemeteries now have 24-hour dog security patrols because of a spate of 'metal thefts' ! (Saddened Ronnie) @Goddess ☼ Ƹl¡: Do you have a No-Grouch Certificate ? Carry it with you at all times, Miss. Goddess. (Ronnie) ripple from Nottingham, United KingdomGreat find, the big sign could apply to the guys who set up the bottom restrictions in the first place. 30 Jan 2012 7:45pm @ripple: "All plants to be house-trained" (R) B. Thomas from Arlington, Texas, United StatesAt least there is not a "no cameras/photography" sign, but then - if we can't shoot people skating, playing, listening, drinking, or feeding, then what is left to photograph? Oh, now I see - dogs pooping. That's enough to make me grouchy, irritable, and just plain mean. My check is in the mail. 30 Jan 2012 7:59pm @B. Thomas: ha ha . . yes, nice one !! As you likely know, we Brits often get stopped by the Police for aiming a camera at anything/anybody in the city. I, myself, have been cautioned so many times I carry the citations with me to save time making calls back to the section house . . I must be a 'Known Offender' ! (Ronnie 5644322A) Lena from San Francisco, United StatesGreat found the park rules. clear detail frame. nice shot. 30 Jan 2012 8:03pm @Lena: Thanks, Lena - I had a look at the on-line Laws : Interesting excerpts from the Byelaws : A person shall not bring into the Park any cattle, sheep, goats,or pigs or hawks, falcons or gaming birds. A person shall not bathe, wade or wash in any ornamental lake, pond, stream or other water. A person shall not race or train any whippet or dog. A person shall not sort rags, bones, refuse, or matter of like nature nor . . beat, shake, sweep, brush, or cleanse any carpet, drugget, rug or mat, or any other fabric retaining dust or dirt; A person in a verminous or offensively filthy condition shall not lie about or lie upon or occupy any seat in the open space. A person shall not fire or discharge any firearm or discharge any missile or squirt or spray or otherwise throw or scatter any offensive liquid, powder or substance. Any person so offending shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding five hundred pounds (£500 / $800) Elaine Hancock from Rockville, United StatesWow, something is up with Lilly. Never have seen her like this before. You need to take your $10 and treat yourself to a nice lunch and a good stiff drink and just forget the park. 30 Jan 2012 9:24pm @Elaine Hancock: ha ha . . at least I got the $10 for the snack ! (Ronnie) Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesThank you for the chuckle this afternoon! That sign really wasn't put up next to the narrative about the embankment, was it? We could use that sign at work. :-) 30 Jan 2012 9:26pm @Steven: . . smiles . . no, as usual, the two signs were 4,000 miles apart ! Thanks, Steven. (from Lilly) curieuzeneuzemosterdpot from somewhere in Limburg, Belgiumwhahaaaaa .. this is very funny, ronnie! :-)) you are right, to let lilly pay! :-))))) 30 Jan 2012 10:29pm Anita from West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United StatesI'm glad that at least one other person (Daryl) thinks the restrictions/allowables are reasonable. This must be a peaceful park. 30 Jan 2012 10:33pm @Anita: It was very peaceful, Anita. I saw only one other person in there and he was being cautioned by the Warden for walking too fast. Might have been Daryl, actually. (Ronnie) @hugo poon: Only 10% . . but it does let you 'enjoy' three parks and be accompanied by a guest on alternate Sundays, Hugo ! (Ronnie) Julie DiCarlo from Austin, United StatesNo wine, no music, no football? That would have rendered many parks un-usable in my twenties... 31 Jan 2012 4:38am @Florence: Yes - between the hours of 6am and an Noon on Fridays, Florence. (Ronnie) Rick from Toronto, CanadaIt is a rare day when Ronnie gets the last word in! Thanks for the laughter. 31 Jan 2012 1:04pm franz from Baden, Austriayou have to be quick to read all this or the park will be closed for the night ... 31 Jan 2012 1:07pm bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaI nearly fell over from laughing so hard. Please...may I borrow that sign so that I may put it up at work?? 31 Jan 2012 1:58pm Slackwater Don from Spokane, United Stateshilarious....even more funny than usual...and that's very hard to do! :-) 31 Jan 2012 3:36pm Lewy from Wallis, SwitzerlandUnglaublich, was es nicht alles gibt. Gut festgehalten. 31 Jan 2012 4:34pm @Lewy: Alles verboten! . (Ronnie) Jen from Alpharetta, United StatesI need that sign in my office....I'd be a millionaire in no time ; ) 31 Jan 2012 5:03pm Ellebelle from Medemblik, NetherlandsLOL :-)) 31 Jan 2012 6:51pm @Dokmateo: Always feels like a Tuesday around here, Mr. D ! (Ronnie) Loukas from Athens and Thessaloniki, GreeceThis is really strange and funny Ronnie 1 Feb 2012 5:56am Chris Pereira from San Francisco, California, United StatesHAHA, i love this! I might want to put this on my door should I ever open up a place of business 1 Feb 2012 6:25am @Chris Pereira: You should start at a $1.00 fine and work your way up, Chris ! Build on your success ! (Ronnie) jpla from St Barthélémy d, FranceBien vu ! (hugs Ronnie) Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainI'll pay 10 dollars but I can't understand what they mean :( 1 Feb 2012 11:54am @Paco Díaz: You are the kinda Visitor we love at the Park . . just keep paying the money, Mr. Paco ! (Warden Ronnie) Andrew Graeme Gould from Santiago, ChileVery skillful work and very much true to life. This brings to mind a cartoon of a dog standing upright on roller skates with an ice cream in its front paws, looking at a mall sign prohibiting dogs, roller skates and ice cream. The dog's speech bubble just contains the F word followed by an exclamation mark! 1 Feb 2012 2:59pm @Andrew Graeme Gould: ha ha . . that is a masterful description, Andrew ! I can see every detail ! (Ronnie) Heinz from Hamm, GermanyFast alles nur Verbotschilder. Wundert mich das man den Park überhaupt noch betreten darf. 1 Feb 2012 3:57pm @Heinz: Ich für meinen Teil war es die Art und Weise die "Verbote" alle bis waren, dass hat mich am meisten gefüttert ! (Ronnie) kiwisa from North Shore, New ZealandThere are days when we all feel that way......but this park sounds more like a Victorian school yard than a public park. However, nowadays with the 'behaviour police' on every street corner - shouldn't be surprised. 1 Feb 2012 7:14pm @kiwisa: . . . 'behavior police' ? There was me thinking they were only over here ! (Ronnie) Akaruiphoto from Kagoshima, JapanWhat an impressive serie of restrictions ! I would not have expect that in England or even in the States. 2 Feb 2012 1:07am @Akaruiphoto: Well, as Lilly rightly says, these Restrictions do not adversely affect me so I am happy to comply but, yes, we do live in a tightly-controlled world here. My own conflict with authority is, of course, carrying a camera which can be seen to be suspicious behavior under our Anti-Terrorism Laws. I have to carry proof of ID and copies of earlier 'search' reports to explain myself in certain areas. Happens. (Fugitive Ronnie) Julie L. Brown from Indianapolis, Indiana, United StatesThen all Ronnie needs is a bench. 2 Feb 2012 10:35am @Julie L. Brown: I wish . . but if I fall asleep, the Warden taps my kneecaps with a Litter Scoop. (Ronnie) Photographs by M.E. from San Francisco, United Stateshahaha! Ronnie, "you can't handle the truth..." (remember that line from that movie...?) 2 Feb 2012 3:15pm @Photographs by M.E.: You girls are all in this together ! (Ronnie Isolated) Tara from Los Angeles, United StatesHahaha. I love it, but if I'm not alowed to feed the squirrels then I'm not going... ;) 3 Feb 2012 5:52am @Tara: That'd be my thoughts, too, Tara ! (Ronnie) Nitin from Shanghai, ChinaExcellent picture Ronnie - as always there's so much to learn and look forward to that is new and brilliant from every one of your pictures. Cheers and have a great weekend! 4 Feb 2012 3:00am @Nitin: Thank you for those generous words, Nitin. We are very much inspired by the talented AM3 Community in which we take such a small part. (Lilly and Ronnie) Sarala from Chicago, United StatesI want to know what the maximum fine is for grouchiness! 4 Feb 2012 4:53pm @Sarala: So far, we have no 'repeat offenders' ! (from Lilly) Christine Walsh from Astoria, NY, United StatesI wish I had this sign! Although....some would say I would just have to pay myself :( 4 Feb 2012 5:51pm Anina Botes from Auckland, New ZealandSo are people allowed there or only dogs? ;) 5 Feb 2012 8:18am Hanry from Castricum, NetherlandsI can not believe so many rules. Seems impossible without violation of this park to enjoy. Well nice picture of this unique board. 6 Feb 2012 9:53pm |
