Lilly : I find this an unsettling painting . . as if the figures will emerge from the frame.
Ronnie : Yes, I think I know what you mean.
Lilly : Urrrgh !! . . that’s creeped me out . .

Masterful work again - this should be up on the wall there with the other masterpieces!

Those old painters seem so outdated now. Just a couple of clicks and everyone (almost) can make portraits that even get out of the frames.
25 Jun 2009 1:17pm
Awesome! I must admit the painting on the right definitely seems to jump out of the frame. Well done, as always.
25 Jun 2009 2:04pm
EXCELLENT !!! Fabulous and amazing work... I agree wit dobbino :))
25 Jun 2009 2:40pm
ha! - another clever one - I don't know how you guys keep on coming up with fresh ideas.....this one is great...

I knew it! That someday you would have your own gallery. Or the new wing on the museum. This one ranks right up there, above 5 stars! Both images perfectly fitting to your story line, figures emerging from the frame. One actually is. The work is so well done I cannot determine if he is a mime actually posing with a frame or you captured an image first and set him in the frame.
Damn, you two are good! ; )

@Barbara: : (from Ronnie) Thanks, Barbara ! This guy is, actually, posing in a frame to promote some street theater. Lilly's comment about that painting reminded me I had snapped the mime earlier yesterday !
So funny, a great edition and composition

speechless!I am amazed how you guys always have something so creative up your sleeves!:)

@MadScientist: : The artworks are “Crowded Street”, Harold Haydon (1909-1994) and a portrait by a mime artist earlier this week !
A painting of a Mime, a mime of a painting...is it any wonder you blow us away LOL EXCELLENT

I had to laugh at this conversation! Good blending, including the detail of the shadow around the frame.
25 Jun 2009 7:30pm
Exxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxcellent, i just love your humor here and it's a great work of art too ! (is that you ? Nice to meet you then ! Bravo**)
25 Jun 2009 7:38pm
This is wicked cool! I love your humor, but yet there is that creepy aspect as the painting literally comes to life. The things childhood nightmares are made of.
25 Jun 2009 8:10pm
amazing blend! the mime could just as easily be a sculptured exhibit in the modern wing...
25 Jun 2009 8:13pm
More than the brillant (as always) photoshop performance, you archived to reconcile street art with museum one!!!
25 Jun 2009 8:15pm
Great! That's not a self portrait is it...?
25 Jun 2009 9:08pm
@Daryl Johnson: : (from Ronnie) . . if it was me you were asking, the answer is a deep "No" . . lol . .
Woooerrr, totally creepy, if this happened to me at the art gallery I would head for the exit I hope.
25 Jun 2009 9:47pm
I like them both and especially the one on the right... really pops out at you... :)
26 Jun 2009 4:16am
Every time I visit your blog I'm flabbergasted ... you two are so creative! Love the living statue on the right!
26 Jun 2009 12:29pm
You've got such a creativity ! That's again a very good example of yours.
26 Jun 2009 1:43pm
The artist framed in his own way, love the creativity here!
26 Jun 2009 5:51pm

Post Impressionism (?) versus Photorealism of the freaky kind.
An excellent disturbing combination

@grouser: :
Thanks, Grouser. Harold Haydon developed a personal compositional theory, which he called "binocular vision." It was all about the separation of left and right images from normal sight . . we guess, in a small and tenuous way, O2S relates to his artistic theories!
This is amazing! One of your all time bests for me. From conception to final presentation this is totally brilliant. Very rich tonal qualities, too.
28 Jun 2009 9:54am
I love the painting on the left.. the one on the right does look quite scary!! :)
29 Jun 2009 2:31pm
Jeez! The one on the right reminds me of some o those horror movies where the eyes of paintings move.. Excellent work, you two deserve a pat on the back! :)
