Ronnie : Yes, true, but look . . I, too, found a boot on the street !
Lilly : What I find even more surprising is that that's a candle, Ronnie..

Graça B. from Lisboa, Portugal

Who have been the idea of making a candle shaped like a boot?! A weird idea...I believe.
Your composition and dialogue are, as we used to see here, very interesting and surprising.

grouser from Ludlow, United Kingdom

You put the boot in to poor Ronnie there Lilly. From the background perhaps it's emergency lighting.

28 Aug 2009 1:25pm

@grouser: : (from Ronnie) ha ha . . yes, I'd not thought of that . . emergency lighting, of course !

Barbara from Florida, United States

Hahaha! You got me. I liked that little boot and noticed the thingy sticking up on top but then I was thinking Asian style design on that cute boot. After reading your commentary I laughed. It even has mud on it like it's been worn.
The other boot is stylish, like for a cowgirl.
A winning piece of work.

28 Aug 2009 1:30pm

@Barbara: : (from Ronnie) I must admit I did not notice it at first . .but, then, I wondered "why?" !

Nataly from Santa Monica, United States

Well, I guess here in case of emergency you light the candle. Should be effective. Great one, guys!

Sandrine from Cincinnati, United States

Fun shot and comments!

28 Aug 2009 3:56pm

@Sandrine: Thanks, Sandrine : we like to think the Comments are one of the main attractions here !

António Pires from Lisbon, Portugal

A useless boot and a useful candle. So, there are things that only get useful when they are together with the other half of the pair.

28 Aug 2009 4:29pm

Chris from South Jersey, United States

is that candle scented to compensate for the foot odor?!?! Very funny finds.....

28 Aug 2009 5:58pm

28 Aug 2009 7:49pm

dobbino from Cape Town, South Africa

You never fail to amaze with your compilations - not sure i am going to sleep too well after seeing this, though - it's a tad disturbing, especially with that evil eye on the middle post! No matter - another brandy will sort out the dreams :) Have a great weekend.

28 Aug 2009 8:20pm

@dobbino: Have a good weekend, yourself, Rob.

k@ from Paris, France

I did not notice it was a candle :))) I picture you organizing all this, ah, that's a real joy !

28 Aug 2009 8:31pm

@k@: : (from Ronnie) Well, my part was truthfully just a find in the street . . Lilly had to hop around to take hers . . hee hee

Vanilla Wine from las vegas, United States

I also didn't notice the candle at first glance. I have friends moving to Missouri from Texas this week and wonder if they are bringing their cowboy boots with them. They may have left them on a trash can.

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

Looks like a candle that would last a very long time...An interesting find.

29 Aug 2009 2:00am

akarui from Kagoshima, Japan

For a candle I would have though about a Santa cross style one. Which one is more useful? 1 boot only is useless until finding the other foot but the candle could do a nice lighting for a future diner between you.

29 Aug 2009 12:06pm

Earnest from Oklahoma, United States

Thou art a candle unto my feet.... Wait -- that is my foot! (OK, it's a very bad reference ---) I like the humor in this as it recalls some of the strange decorations that occasionally appear in my own home. Sometimes I wonder -- just what was my wife thinking?

29 Aug 2009 12:52pm
