Lilly : If you have a tomato to spare, I'll pay you a quarter
Ronnie : Done deal . . 100% blemish-free
Lilly : Ronnie, that is not big enough to carry a blemish . . and your quarter has spent little time in daylight.

22 Sep 2009 3:19pm

... great composition!!! .. fantastic shot.. clever.. bravo.
22 Sep 2009 5:32pm
Where do you get your ideas from?!...
22 Sep 2009 6:20pm
@Daryl Johnson: We often ask that same question of ourselves, Daryl. I can remember seeing these ‘tomberries’ in an Italian store where I buy a lovely olive oil in stone jars and that it led to discussion with Lilly about cherry tomatoes thru to beef tomatoes . . after that, everything is a sun-dried blur . . but I did run out of olive oil and anchovies along the way. (Ronnie)
Remember Lilly size isn't everything......
Flavour is important too.
It could be a little sweetie

22 Sep 2009 9:41pm
This would be a fabulous image even if it wasn't a composite, and had no humour to it. How much more so is it with these additions!!!

I see one of you standing in the reflection of the spoon :) Great montage and I'm wondering how you managed to keep that spoon so quiet !
23 Sep 2009 6:20am
@Monique: ha ha . . thanks, Monique - that would be me looking like I have been created by Gaudí on an off day ! (Ronnie)
Beyond the usual great humor, I love the tones of red meeting silver here ! Elegant !
23 Sep 2009 7:22am
@k@: yay !! . . amazing what can happen in a kitchen (or, two) . . thanks, Karine (Ronnie)

@djedfre: Salvador Dalí ! . . that's the guy my coffee-soaked mind was thinking of back there ! Thanx for that. (Roni)
Yes! Very Daliesque! I love it.
And that little tomato... looks a bit like the pitiful harvest off my tomato plant this year. Pathetic.
23 Sep 2009 10:47am
This is really a nice one, I love the composition and the colors, where did you find that cool spoon?
23 Sep 2009 11:49am
OH wow! Your balancing skills are amazing- and the reds are so inviting.
23 Sep 2009 3:19pm
I love this shot. What fun it seems the two of you have.
23 Sep 2009 7:51pm
Thats so much fun, and that little tomato is just about what I grew this year, it was a disaster in the greenhouse.
23 Sep 2009 8:41pm
Ah, the obsession with size..... Just taste it and see who got the better deal!
23 Sep 2009 9:43pm
That Ronnie is always wheeling and dealing.

24 Sep 2009 12:11am
Just love it! I have may, many tomatoes that have gone to waste in our garden. Had I known there was a need I would have sent some your way!
24 Sep 2009 1:49am
Haha, love that cherry tomato.
24 Sep 2009 8:10am
@Zing: Thanks ! They are sold as 'Tomberries' here and are much smaller than the Cherry variety.

24 Sep 2009 9:14pm
What wonderful colors and excellent treatment !
25 Sep 2009 3:26am
Ronnie, your tomato is the size of a marble. But I bet it's tasty, just not big enough to share with Lilly. I love the colors, clarity of the spoon and of course the humor. Grouser's comment had me chuckling.
Did someone mention Salvador Dali? On Sunday I passed by the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida. Tomorrow is museum day and entrance to several are free, including Dali.
Anyhow I've always like Dali......... and tomatoes!
26 Sep 2009 4:07am
@Barbara: Big thank-you, Barbara, for your supportive Comments. There is something Dali we, too, see about this one now it has got mentioned a few times . . the spoon, yes, but also the weird concept and choice and arrangement of the components.
The best part are the reflections in the spoon!

You know, all kidding aside, clever words and scenes, your photography really is brilliant. I really like how you control the lighting, the fine details that are brought forward, and eye for compositions.
Tomatoes are seriously one of my favourites, just sayin' ...
