I like the two being compared like this though I am partial to the left one, the one on the right looks freaky

hehe nice, the picture is lovely but the conversation below is fantastic!
3 Nov 2009 2:51pm
interesting picture! yes!!! it looks like a hand =)
3 Nov 2009 2:53pm
@Patri: Thanks, Patri, it does look creepy like that !
Well that's what age does to a leaf! Lilly's find will be there one day... I love your "specimen dish". :)
3 Nov 2009 2:55pm
@Amanda: That dish is lovely, yes ? I bought it in a garden center where it was sold as a drip tray for a pot but I can get away with telling folk it is real special with that splash of glaze ! (Ronnie)
I would extend Amanda comment: that's what age does to every living thing. Beautiful? Eek!
3 Nov 2009 3:09pm
nice contrast.......if either of you want to look at some more leaves, you are welcome to come to my house and collect all that you want!!! My yard, sidewalk, driveway, and gutters are covered with them!!!
3 Nov 2009 3:23pm
ah, i really like these. =) diff but complementary images... stone in it's nature state, fresh leaf. stone, into a bowl, leaf, dead. (well it was a leaf, now it's jus a preserved hand lol)
3 Nov 2009 3:25pm
@Em!ly Ng: Thanks, Em!ly. When I started with this one, I had no idea it looked like a hand . . hee hee (Ronnie)
Ronnie's hand is...just this close! best...jerry
3 Nov 2009 3:28pm
Nice to see you branching out. as for your 'hand' Ronnie I can take it or leaf it
3 Nov 2009 4:58pm
Nice fall colors go well with the stone and the specimen dish. I think I prefer Lilly's specimen though.
3 Nov 2009 5:10pm
A very creative composition ! I like it a lot
3 Nov 2009 5:55pm
My favorite thing? That old blue and cream dish! I love that.
3 Nov 2009 6:13pm
@sylvia cole: Thanks, Sylvia. That dish is not that old . . I bought it in a plant nursery just a couple years back and I like it more and more. (Ronnie)
Hehehe love Lilys comment about the severed hand
3 Nov 2009 6:47pm
Lilly's leaf is actually quite beautiful - and set off nicely against the grey speckled background. As for yours..... :)
3 Nov 2009 6:57pm
I think this perfectly depicts the pros and cons of autumn. :-)
3 Nov 2009 7:14pm
Good evening, Ronnie,
the conversation is very funny. The leaf on the right side really looks like a withered hand. I like your ideas very well and encourages me to make something funny too. Dear greetings Christel
3 Nov 2009 8:24pm
@Christel: Thank you, Christel !
That preserved hand seems to have more character as it takes on a three-dimensional look. But I will have to say it does look like a severed hand with the fingers and thumb curling. Thank you for the laugh. :-D

@Steven: I better come clean and admit that, when I first set it up in my little studio, I had no idea it looked like a hand. I took about a dozen varied frames and this one popped out for looking like a claw ! Such is the fun of O2S ! (Ronnie)
Original..... j'adore, bravo et bonne soirée, Philippe.
3 Nov 2009 9:06pm
@philippe: Merci, Philippe ! Très bienvenue.
Fantastic and very clever image! I looove fall leaves.
3 Nov 2009 11:06pm
...but beautiful in its own way!
3 Nov 2009 11:33pm
Lily's response always cracks me up....! Beautiful comparison Ron.
3 Nov 2009 11:47pm
2 very different representations of autumn. The light on the leaf of Lilly is wonderful. For Ronnie, you could try to flip your picture and compare with this one. The "hand" will face to the other leaf, idem for the wood veins.
4 Nov 2009 12:45am
@akarui: You are right, Olivier . . it would have related better with the 'hand' facing left . . (Ronnie)
The dish reminds me of an old ashtray my father usd to keep on his dresser for change ( us kids would dip into unsees......)
4 Nov 2009 1:40am
Very good dialogue, and a special eye to find the quid of a composition.
4 Nov 2009 6:22am
Nice shot! The one on the right really looks like a hand held as a claw!
4 Nov 2009 10:15am
i like the severed hand image,so apt!I always wish to travel to countries with seasons and collect these leaves in their fiery colours and keep them as souvenir. THanks for telling me about Saturn's new ring,i am going to tell Caleb,he is going to be really excited. His fave planet!:)
4 Nov 2009 1:35pm
@tyan: hee hee . . thanks, Tyan, regards to Caleb (Lilly and Ronnie)
hahahahahaha - I liked that one...
4 Nov 2009 5:02pm
I like both the images and the combination
4 Nov 2009 5:16pm
Lilly is right, it does look like a severed hand. Still a great combination of images as you always do.
4 Nov 2009 6:32pm
i love the thought that you put in to your shot i enjoy your images
4 Nov 2009 11:32pm
Ewww, it does look like a severed hand now that I look at. Wonderful comparison and wonderful shots!!!
5 Nov 2009 12:14am
How thought provoking - everything will shrivel away and die (no wait, they are both dead - is one more dead than the other? Is there death after death?)
5 Nov 2009 12:33am
I had a laugh. I liked your image and dialogue, Ronnie.
5 Nov 2009 12:43am
@Michael Skorulski: Thanks, Michael !
I like your use of textures and color. Very nice design. It looks like a severed hand to me also.
5 Nov 2009 1:41am
I like the contrast of the 2 images...but what is so pretty and beautiful on the left will eventually wind up shriveled and dry. I do like the severed hand :)
5 Nov 2009 3:36am
Could be the same leaf at different stages... makes me think about the passage of time
5 Nov 2009 1:22pm
hahaah...It does happen to the best of us.
5 Nov 2009 2:46pm
You have a wicked silly super sense of humor...not a bad photographer either !!! ;-)
5 Nov 2009 9:00pm
I like the natural mood of Lillies colorful leaf on the speckled rock, but I see Ronnie is back in the lab with his severed hand and specimen dish. Is it the same lab you make your coffee in?
This brought a smile, I enjoye the comparison and how you have presented this.
8 Nov 2009 11:22am
@Barbara: hee hee . . I think I got the idea of a lab from one of your Comments, Barbara . . and it kinda suits what I see around me here ! Thanks for stopping by. (Ronnie)
it sure does! a bit creepy but how brilliant! nice work! :)
9 Nov 2009 7:50am
A terrific series of relationships between the two images, distinct and worthy of standing alone, yet even more compelling in conversation.
