Lilly : This sign was at the end of my street for years . . then, it got stolen !
Ronnie : They must have stolen it in daylight – before the dogs arrived ?
Lilly : Well, your lion doesn’t look up to doing much guarding, I have to say.

Let's hope the Vets clear Ronnie's lion from isolation.

I get a mixed message here lol good one guys!

Aw' that ole Lion is just a pussy-cat really. Anyone can get by him as long as they are quiet as a mouse. Be careful though I think he got isolated 'cos he caught fleas off the guard dogs.

Wow - this must have taken a bit of time to put together! Superbly done, Ronnie - and I must agree with Grouser's comment about the lion being a pussy cat - he certainly wouldn't scare off any of our folk here!

Love the banter that your shots generate another great work
18 Nov 2009 7:18pm
Seems the guard dogs have been nibbling at the lion's ears!
18 Nov 2009 7:37pm
I hope no baby lion or invisible dog was harmed in the making of this cool image!
I love signs. They crack me up. But that isolated for inspection notice....that would keep me out. I would be wondering what kinda of contaminants are in there.

Fantastic image. I was just trying to figure out how you pieced this together so realistically. Perfect.

That grey lion looks very bored and dont seems to do his job very well...
18 Nov 2009 9:39pm
Before the dogs arrived? Hmm... Why not "after stealing the dogs"?
18 Nov 2009 10:01pm
is the fence to keep the lion in? doesn't look up to the task....maybe to keep the lion from getting stolen? great shot.....

The quality of guarding has really gone down, soon to be replaced by cameras.
19 Nov 2009 2:28am
that lion statue sure looks like a wimpy lion !
19 Nov 2009 3:40am
well, if you want to know the truth, a truly accurate statue of a (male) lion would have him snoring away!

Looks dangerous to me! Great work!
Note , I have a new blog (photojournal) on my site.

19 Nov 2009 6:11pm
The lion's O.K. It's just that he's a retired zoo lion who's used to being fed. I don't know about the dogs though.
19 Nov 2009 7:15pm
This is such a super find ! Tip-top with yours lines again ;) I like a lot the palette red/beige/B&W (with a hint of... grin ;))
19 Nov 2009 8:21pm
The lion seem more friendly than the hiding dogs that might rush and bite any people passing by.
Nicely done as usual.
19 Nov 2009 11:34pm
I'm amazed that the lion hasn't been stolen..... it would look good on somebodys lawn !
19 Nov 2009 11:38pm
I think I will trespass on the Lion side.
20 Nov 2009 12:53am
I'd rather risk the lion...

No I'm sure that the lion is an excellent guardian

Only one way to fix this problem... Sign should read "This sign stolen from _______ Park." I guarantee it will stay... Seamless work on this one...
21 Nov 2009 3:31pm
I certainly won't be going in that park at night, but I'm not intimidated with Ronnie's. It looks a bit rained on. Strange, that today I stopped for a short time at a local park. Half of it was closed off because they found a large area of arsenic growing.

I think that lion has been quarantined.
25 Nov 2009 4:11am
ronnie never mind the lion, i bet the sign was stolen at gun point, there was nothing he could do to prevent the robery, who would steel a sign?!?!
25 Nov 2009 1:59pm
