Lilly : How you coping with the 'heat' over there, Ronnie ?
Ronnie : Desperate times - temps in the 80's and running low on Diet Coke.
Lilly : I saw this while passing thru Wisconsin back in 2008. Does it help ?

30 Jun 2011 5:04am
Ha ha - coke on the rocks (almost).
30 Jun 2011 5:58am
:-)) it does - simply looking at it !
30 Jun 2011 7:13am
I think the "Chateau Wisconsin" could be useful in this case ...Here we have no "Chateau Wisconsin", we have Bordeaux, St. Emilion, St. Estèphe ... but not "Chateau Wisconsin"
I love idea !!! ;o)
30 Jun 2011 7:20am
@Ani: ha ha . . it will all be determined by marketing ! (Ronnie)
just coca cola!
30 Jun 2011 8:15am
Nice pair of images...we all rely on similar products to beat the heat.
30 Jun 2011 8:29am
Keep cool (how, inside an oven?), we still have two hot months ahead.
30 Jun 2011 9:32am
In this dialogue of images and words needed to know what temperature is a friend ... I'm fried hot ... but I prefer Coke with cafina with sugar all ... Good design for maketing! A hug, Adela
30 Jun 2011 10:19am
Ha! That should help Ronnie chill out! Running out of Coke would be the last straw!
30 Jun 2011 10:26am
Great composition and like always very original :D
30 Jun 2011 10:45am
nice shot with a cool simplicity.
30 Jun 2011 12:07pm
Super shot and your humor !
30 Jun 2011 12:42pm
Blue color gives a visual connection to the 2 pictures. Really nice shape of your straw Ronnie but unfortunately the glass is empty. Something more to drink? Coke is a really bad drink during hot weather...
30 Jun 2011 12:46pm
Génaile compo et iamge superbe très originale bien vu
30 Jun 2011 1:15pm
I completely forgot about curly straws--they make everything more fun. :)
30 Jun 2011 2:06pm
Lilly - seems like there's a tire track beside that pepsi... must be a Coke delivery truck, lol! Still, that's thoughtful of you to offer Ronnie a frozen drink, by the 'time' it gets to him, it would be just right...
Ronnie - I hope my post today gave you a little cold relief... 80s temp is good for M.E., then again I'm Asian and I love the summer heat!
30 Jun 2011 2:14pm
@Photographs by M.E.: I learned something from that posting of yours, Maria - I'm a better man because of it (although Lilly says there's still a way to go . . lol . . ) (Ronnie)
no way! Ronnie needs the Real Thing! (Things Go Better with Coke)
30 Jun 2011 2:29pm
@marci: Oh, thanks for the link-back - I'd missed that one !! Neato ! (Ronnie)
Hey, 80 degrees is perfect for summer! Don't Europeans drink their soda at room temperature anyway?
30 Jun 2011 2:32pm
I like very muc this fresh composition !
30 Jun 2011 2:36pm
@Mhelene: Thank you, Mhelene - simple is always best ! (Ronnie)
I am sure it does, though the pepsi is 3 years old,I am sure the cold did a good job preserving it,if you are really desperate, Ronnie :p
30 Jun 2011 2:50pm
ha! life seems to be tough on both sides of the atlantic! a very "cool" idea, telling us all we need to know about wisconsin ... ;-))
30 Jun 2011 3:39pm
Ha! I wonder is Ronnie thirsty enough to join the Pepsi Generation?
30 Jun 2011 4:46pm
We used to call it American champain ;) Nicely done ! Have a lovely day...
30 Jun 2011 5:27pm
ha ha ha :) .... only pepsi on the rocks, not some red wine of Bordeaux :) !!!!!!
30 Jun 2011 6:05pm
@Kat: ha ha . . thanks for giving me the giggles, Kat . . for some reason those words have got to me . . (Ronnie)
Clean, crisp and cool in temperature shot, love the curly straw -- brings back memories! Very Funny!
30 Jun 2011 6:30pm

30 Jun 2011 7:04pm

Here in southern Texas it's in the upper 90's......has been for 2 months, and will be until Halloween. A few times we have had temps in the 80's for Christmas.
30 Jun 2011 7:08pm
I am so glad I live in California where it stays around 65 all year round!
30 Jun 2011 7:10pm
@Tracy: Sure sounds ideal and you got that surfing beach just by climbing over the chain fence by the railroad and that Rob Roy store . . maybe that's closed . . hee hee (Researcher Ronnie)
This frozen coke has become a weapon! Thanks for cooling us down. :-)
30 Jun 2011 7:26pm
Shell i bring you a coke Ronny??
30 Jun 2011 7:36pm
@Richard: All food parcels to the back gate, please ! (Ronnie)
ah,Ronnie, you are a pure american, only dreaming about coke when it's hot! What do you think about a glass of water with ice? What!!!! Water is running low too? Then,ok for this out-of-date pepsi!
30 Jun 2011 8:06pm
@Pascale.: Funny you should be saying this ! One of the alternative postings we prepared did feature water . . well, ice, actually ! You can see an extract from it here ! (Ronnie)
what a cool straw, the drink gets dizzy i guess
30 Jun 2011 9:24pm
Ahh yes the great British summer of '11 - that was a great time.
30 Jun 2011 9:25pm
@Daryl Johnson: You noticed it ? I thought I was the only one, Daryl . . oh, boy, it was so great. Looking forward to next year, now. (Reminiscing Ronnie)

30 Jun 2011 9:32pm
Get the Tardis, Ronnie! You've got some time traveling to do.
30 Jun 2011 9:52pm

Great idea, Ronnie ... Wonderful images and lovely conversation. :)
30 Jun 2011 11:12pm
@Sam: Thank you, Sam - very kind. (Lilly and Ronnie)
Dudes, I was in Bakersfield the other day and it was 100! I'll take the frozen one!
30 Jun 2011 11:55pm
No Need for ice...
30 Jun 2011 11:59pm
I bet Lilly thinks the heat has twisted your plastic tube, but 80F ? Ronnie, I only know C :(
1 Jul 2011 12:27am
@Michael Fresh: I know, Mike. I should get a conversion table but, when I last looked in Woolworths, the cheapest were 1/6d and I didn't want to break into a ten shilling note. (Imperial Ronnie)
mmm .. 26 degrees celcius, not so hot ...... The picture makes me thirsty though and I don't even drink so much soda ^^ You two should get into advertising!!
1 Jul 2011 12:51am
Maybe it's only me... but to me this really helps! Feeling so very cool and refreshing! Thanks Lilly!:-)))
1 Jul 2011 2:55am
@hugo poon: Ah, the power of The Image ! If only we stopped photographing Pepsi, we might get a commission from Coke ! Have a great day, Hugo. (L&R)
Good refreshing photo for today's hot weather here :))
1 Jul 2011 5:49am
If one has this to 8 am remains frozen throughout the day.
1 Jul 2011 6:10am
Superbe composition ! Je te souhaite une agréable journée
1 Jul 2011 6:18am
(Ronnie)
Wow! 80 °, it will melt:)) Thank God the "Pepsi" on the rock! Good day.
1 Jul 2011 9:21am
nothing like refreshing memories ... : )
1 Jul 2011 2:08pm
The 80's? You are such a wuss. It's been 102° here. I think I could gnaw that plastic off to get to the ice! ;-)
Nice pair and comment. I like the curly straw's attention getting power. Fine post.
1 Jul 2011 2:37pm
@Don: Thank you, Don Enjoy the coming weekend ! (Ronnie)

@Goddess ☼ Ƹl¡: Thank you, Goddess ! (Ronnie)
1 Jul 2011 10:15pm
Perhaps this is what led Wisconsin to electing such an idiotic governor a few years later!!!
1 Jul 2011 10:47pm
July should even be hotter. Like the blue tones and ice, so refreshing with the pepsi. Fascinating image, right down to that cool straw.
2 Jul 2011 12:23am
wait a second, there's something wrong here,, there's no piece of paper hahaha temps in the 80's huh, that's not too too bad, 100's is bad.... make sure you come see my picture tomorrow, i've put one up that i did for a friend, it took me 3 hours to do coz i suck at working on other people's photos lol anyway, good to see you, nice shot!!!
2 Jul 2011 5:34am
@Elaine-: Thank you, Elaine - I've booked a front row seat for tomorrow ! (Ronnie)
A "cool" shot from Wisconsin...nearly enough cool vibes to bring down our 90-100 degree temps a couple of notches here in CA. 80 degrees seems pretty tame unless it is accompanied by high humidity...we DON'T have the humidity out here, thank the heavens !! :-)
2 Jul 2011 6:12am
Oops, I missed this one. Micronta was the trade name for Radio Shack products. Assuming this was shot in the UK, that is a very old thermometer. Does it also measure temperature in Reamur and Delisle?
2 Jul 2011 8:01am
@CElliottUK: You are right on the name connections there, Chris - along with 'Realistic' and many others under the Radio Shack umbrella. I thought it was all history (those two names sure are) but I see the holding company ran US$ 4.473 billion in 2010 ! Fact is, this little thermometer is on my desk here still in use but not for Rømer, Rankine or Newton ! (Ronnie)
but where do you find such ideas ! ha ha, always funny to come there ! have a nice day ☼
2 Jul 2011 8:44am
@☺ ► ƸɼiϾ ◄ ☼: ha ha . . we often ask ourselves that question ! Lilly really did take that shot way back in 2008 in Wisconsin and we had it on file all this time unused. I kinda liked making a graphic counterpoint to it as it happened to be a rare warm day in London. Thanks, Eric ! (Ronnie)
Une très belle vision surréaliste de notre civilisation !
2 Jul 2011 9:13am
@jafadabret: 'surréalistes' est un mot beaucoup plus doux que les 'surreal' ! Merci, Jacques. (Ronnie)
In addition with the top form humor, i love the light, icy blue that sure refreshes us all the best way, makes me thirsty right now, efficient post ;)
2 Jul 2011 10:23am
@k@: Thank you, Karine - we sure cannot hide these subliminal messages from the likes of you ! Have a lovely weekend. (Ronnie)
wow ! excellent
2 Jul 2011 11:39am
as long as it's diet pepsi, it is sure to be even more the materials plastic tablecloths are made of......whatever would we do with out plastic.
2 Jul 2011 3:54pm
very nice juxtaposition
2 Jul 2011 7:09pm
@Gilles: Thank you, Giles - enjoy your weekend ! (Lilly and Ronnie)
now that's a straw
2 Jul 2011 10:57pm
oh that poor forgotten Pepsi bottle .... that carelessness wouldn't happen to a Coke bottle
3 Jul 2011 3:54am
@crash: Well said, my friend ! (Ronnie)
3 Jul 2011 7:56am
You had better watch your weight Ronnie! A recent study has shown that people drinking diet coke are much more likely to put weight on that those drinking 'normal' coke!
3 Jul 2011 9:01am
@Philip: Strewth . . reading that, I'm convinced that the very act of Living can cause death and that being cautious can simply prolong the agony of it all. What to do now . . ? !! (Short-Term-Ronnie)
Once again very creative! The quality also of the photos is superb
3 Jul 2011 12:05pm
I would say sky juice is better..add some ice cubes if you like it really cold on a hot day! and ohhh, the weather's hot here,,oh gosh! Good job!
4 Jul 2011 3:51am
Superb! Something for me to smile in this otherwise hard day that Im having. Cheers n have a great week guys!
4 Jul 2011 5:51am
Visited WI last year :) cold in the winter :)
4 Jul 2011 6:04am
I'm glad we are in the cool gills :)
4 Jul 2011 11:54am
funny, un excellent cru ;)
6 Jul 2011 3:09am
I've watched the image before...I'm watching it now, again....no result! It's still unbearably HOT here! Every day, every day over 30 deg.C...every night around 25 deg. C...and they want us to save electricity!
7 Jul 2011 12:17pm
@Japanalia: Yes, keeping cool is far more expensive (in cost and consumption) than keeping warm, I know, Gabriela. Thankfully, in London, we have only a handful of 'too warm' days a year ! (Ronnie)
