Lilly : I thought this was such a sweet request . . .
Ronnie : Yes, it reminds me rather of this little slate put out each day near Buckingham Palace.
Lilly : Oh . . by a liveried footman in buckle shoes ? Do you have a pair of those, Ronnie ?

Superb presentation ! Beautiful !
19 Mar 2012 7:35am
19 Mar 2012 7:52am
A nice comparison of requests ..........
I like the framing of the image on the right!!
19 Mar 2012 7:59am
I'm imagining the livery footman and the buckle shoes. What fun! Love how you've conceived of this one..put it together.
19 Mar 2012 8:17am
Ronnie, so well dressed, you could come today to open the balcony door to "my" princess? Thanks.
19 Mar 2012 8:26am
Ronnie Hello, good morning.
I like your photography and compositions that do, the texture colors and the light is always perfect, highly symbolic images. brave
19 Mar 2012 8:41am
@Melocoton: Thanks, Pablo ! (Ronnie)
Do you ?
19 Mar 2012 8:45am
@Veronique: You rang, M'lady . . (Ronnie Buckle)
I particularly like the cat contraception message in the right hand shot. Tom's always need a reminder of the consequences of a night on the tiles. I'm going to steal the left hand shot, and put it on the seat in front of me next time I fly cattle class anywhere
19 Mar 2012 8:56am
@CElliottUK: ha ha . . yes, that sticker would be less sensational than "Contaminated" ! But either should work. (Ronnie)
That gave me a good laugh for this Monday morning, I want both those signs :)
19 Mar 2012 9:00am
Très drôle! La rose semble passer outre l'interdit!
Bon début de semaine lumineuse, printanière et chal-heureuse!
19 Mar 2012 9:38am
An excellent composition ... full of exquisite details ... I have read the dialogue but I think this time no "pillo" the idea! I'll keep thinking ... So I do my daily imput your language! A hug L&R, Adela
19 Mar 2012 9:41am
@Adela Fonts: Whatever language you use, I always enjoy the hugs ! (Ronnie)
The art of politeness lives on with these two elegant signs!
19 Mar 2012 9:42am
@Stephen: Smooth, huh ?! Thanks, Stephen. (Ronnie)
A single flower on top of wood, had me thinking of reclining in a top notch coffin (just to try for size you know).
19 Mar 2012 9:57am
@Curly: Yes, it has that feeling about it - I'll hafta ask Lilly where it was although I thought she said a train station. Close ! (Ronnie)
Only the pink has the right to lie!! Good day.
19 Mar 2012 10:16am
I'll stay on my knees
but Ronnie how silly
It couldn't be unfitter
for no litter to be litter
19 Mar 2012 10:44am
What's a poor cat to do with all these rules !
19 Mar 2012 11:27am
Superbe ta composition comme d'hab d'ailleurs!! j'aime++++
19 Mar 2012 11:29am
sometimes i really don't understand. i wish my english was better.
19 Mar 2012 11:56am
@JCJ: Croyez-moi, il y aura des jours là où ne pas parler anglais serait une bénédiction!
Believe me, there will be days here where not speaking English would be a blessing !
Did someone propose on the left side and got turned down?! I'm wondering what's going on there and my imagination is going crazy :)
19 Mar 2012 12:04pm
@Monique: ha ha . . we willl hafta wait for Lilly to come back from wherever and explain it - I'm only the supporting cast ! (Ronnie-in-the-wings)
I love how this became a shoe thing :-))
19 Mar 2012 12:22pm
Fantastic images and good fun for the start of the week!
19 Mar 2012 12:35pm
Wonderful coordination & understanding between both of you... nice pair of images.
19 Mar 2012 12:44pm
hmmmm...? not sure I get this photo or convo - lol! I sure like that rose on Lilly's photo and the warm tones on Ronnie's!
19 Mar 2012 2:16pm
I do love the politeness of these requests! Sometimes a whisper is so much louder than a yell.....
19 Mar 2012 2:34pm
19 Mar 2012 2:44pm
These are very near the top end of politeness and I like them very much - both, really :-) However, I live on a corner where my little strip of of lawn and landscape is steadily the recipient of cigarette butts that are dreamily flipped out a car window as the puffers slow for the corner....I am trying to think of a sign that will have the desired result rather than simply inspire larger mounds of trash being heaped onto my lawn. People just don't seem to care.
19 Mar 2012 2:52pm
@Denny Jump Photo: Denny, I would suggest a sign saying "Danger - Gasoline Spill" ! Would you throw a butt at that ?!! (Ronnie Aflame)
I can not read your story in the images, but I like the left side of the picture, romantic feel creative composition......:-)
19 Mar 2012 3:23pm
@Lena: Sometimes, our minds wander . . but it can be a pretty route ! Thanks, Lena. (Ronnie)
Now that is a photo I would love to see- Ronnie in buckle shoes:))))
19 Mar 2012 6:54pm
@kiwisa: I'm looking on eBay . . . (Ronnie)
ROFL...that looks like game, set and match Ronnie! ;-)))
19 Mar 2012 6:56pm
very nice & interestung!!!
19 Mar 2012 7:51pm
Having recently spent too many hours on airplanes, I would have loved to see the request that Lilly found on the seat in front of mine.
19 Mar 2012 8:50pm
Oh I LOVE that suggestion !! ;-) Thank you, Ronnie - I will do that :-)
19 Mar 2012 8:58pm
@Denny Jump Photo: Beware Ronnie's advice, Denny - he might next suggest you slosh some gas around 'to make it realistic'. His ideas can be very memorable. (from Lilly)
Tradition chains us to our past, though each time more and more an abstraction.
19 Mar 2012 9:25pm
@António Pires: That's very profound - should be the by-line of a photoblog ! (from Lilly)
Hahaha so what do you have for ST then?! Nice shot and presentation! Two thumbs up!
19 Mar 2012 10:01pm
@Dokmateo: Someone once opined that it seems always to be Tuesday around here ! (L&R)
Beautiful images! Such politeness is very nice.
19 Mar 2012 10:03pm
@Elaine Hancock: Yes, refreshing in our blunted world. (Ronnie)
Simple questions in a special way on the screen. Beautiful work.
19 Mar 2012 10:09pm
the gentle touch ..
but it remains a proscripition? :-))
19 Mar 2012 10:29pm
@curieuzeneuzemosterdpot: Oh, yes, the message is still there ! Thanks, Friend. (Ronnie)
Simple request, politely stated! Oh yea, and great photography.
19 Mar 2012 10:37pm
I like the chalk on the slate-so highbrow!
20 Mar 2012 12:14am
@Julie L. Brown: I think it was 'Tippex' - remember that 'corrective fluid' ? I bet they still use it at Buckingham Palace ! (Ronnie)
well i am thinking you two are in your own little world haha but i'm happy to be back part of it :)
20 Mar 2012 5:47am
Excellent signposts to the culture there. I would guess the image on the left is a tomb of some famous person, perhaps. Good pix. ;oD
20 Mar 2012 7:57am
@janina: It does look that way - Lilly has been so busy I've not been able to ask her yet ! Have a good day and thanks for all your Comments here, Janina - Appreciated. (Ronnie)
Fantastique ensemble et ocmpo sueprbe image.
20 Mar 2012 8:01am

20 Mar 2012 11:19am
Bien des civilités!
20 Mar 2012 2:15pm
Another creative and strong presentation! Very well done.
20 Mar 2012 2:24pm
To Lilly - Thanks very much for the good advice, Lilly. My wife seemed to have the same reaction when I told her of this last night :-)
20 Mar 2012 4:44pm
@Denny Jump Photo: I'm relived. Ronnie is behind many of Arlo's wooden-headed ideas . . need I say more ? (from Lilly)
In addition to your witty spirits & great pics, i never told you how cool it is to read all the comments above ;) Sometimes, my english does not allow me to understand fully the depth of your humor, and the comments always give the necessary (for me, in that case) extra infos - a great page that yours is, guyz !
20 Mar 2012 6:20pm
@k@: Thanks, Karine - that makes lovely reading in itself !
When we first began O2S, we each had plenty experience of photoblogs where we were grateful of the "Love the colors, man" type of 'comment' but felt there must be something more. Your own site is one where folks really participate and we like to think they do so here. Thanks again - to you and all those above - appreciated greatly. (Lilly and Ronnie)
I often regret i'm not native english languaged ;) to participate more on your page but be sure i do within myself in what i feel when looking at your clever propositions - one thing is really stunning & a great pleasure : your ability to renew yourself the way you do on each post. Pfiou (it's a french cartoon-like stuff that mean "Wow" but with your breathe in ;))) Thanks a lot for your always appreciated rich comments*
20 Mar 2012 7:42pm
Curly is getting too close to home:))
20 Mar 2012 10:55pm
21 Mar 2012 12:14am
In spite of Curly's suggestion, Lilly's is sweet and graceful to me; and Ronnie's is extraordinarily classic!:-) Love these reminders!!!
(PS. After reading your reply to k@, I decide to cut the crap that I've originally prepared - "wonderful find", "interesting juxtaposition", "fantastic details", "beautiful tone", "humorous words" - and save them for your next post.)
21 Mar 2012 3:13am
@hugo poon: That Curly is gaining a lotta attention here - must check his subscription is up to date ! (Ronnie)
21 Mar 2012 7:19am
Superbes, ces deux photos!!! Bravo, Ronnie!
21 Mar 2012 9:40am
@Monik: Je vous remercie, Monik - avoir une belle journée. (Ronnie)
Delightful kind of whimsy! If only such signs were a regular sight! Would they make a difference?
21 Mar 2012 10:16am
@Gemma Wiseman: My guess is not - unless we had an on-the-spot fine to go with it. (Ronnie)
lilly's find is rather extraodrinary - what's so bad about reclining that one shouldn't do it ?!?
ronnie's find is soooo humble ... i wonder if those who should read it really do ...
(and i'm waiting for a pic of those 'buckled shoes', too ... ;-))
21 Mar 2012 3:42pm
Hmm, feel welcome but don't linger... the hard surfaces don't look like they'd support much of a recline anyway, unless the rest of the surroundings are that much more uncomfortable ;)
21 Mar 2012 7:35pm
These are wonderful photos, but, I'm not getting it.....
21 Mar 2012 10:43pm
@Anita: That's because decent people like you and I don't lounge around in railroad stations or drop litter on a porch. (Ronnie)
I like very much Lilly's picture alone but the association of requests and Ronnie's humor photo make it all great.
22 Mar 2012 12:18am
@Akaruiphoto: We each found a strange silence within these images . . as if the messages were not expected to be respected, somehow. Thanks, Olivier. (L&R)
The little sign on the right looks like it is litter itself. Perhaps you should pick it up and throw it in.
22 Mar 2012 3:04am
@B. Thomas: ha ha . . yes, it does (and did) look like that but it was such an odd and 'personalized' way of making the plea ! Thank Barbara. (Ronnie)
Both notifications are too politeful to be still in use in U.K.! I don't think they have ever crossed the Atlantic(?!)...
23 Mar 2012 6:55am
Great set, signs on unusual spot, I never see such signs in my place (o, of course because most signs are in Indonesian language:)).
24 Mar 2012 12:45am
So polite, here the signs just read: "Do not litter", no wonder it get ignored :)
24 Mar 2012 8:23am
@Anina Botes: There seems no answer to it. I would not dream of dropping rubbish in the street but I am surrounded by it. I guess I don't belong. (Ronnie)
Beautiful images and simple and polite request. Wonderful presentation Ronnie and Lilly.
Love the interesting comments and discussions. Thanks. :)
24 Mar 2012 5:12pm
what an odd sign! wherever did you find that, Lily? and on what are we being so politely asked not to recline?
