A hard landing after a long flight! Not much hope for the chair but the 50s china tea set might have survived.

11 Oct 2012 11:58am
Oh dear Ronnie - and I don't think you can pass the buck onto young Arlo either!!!
11 Oct 2012 12:44pm
@Tracy: Yes, there is always an element of Arlo in most problems ! (Ronnie)
no, the internet is full of conspiracy theory videos which prove that the chair couldn't have collapsed that way by the impact of a dancer
it was an inside job! (arlo maybe?)
11 Oct 2012 3:36pm
@yz: You are convincing me . . I shall hold Arlo in quarantine. (Ronnie)
Ces oeuvres de cet artiste sont mervielleuse quelle compo et iamge génial.

11 Oct 2012 4:07pm
Well I guess everything has its limits... but something tells all is not well, perhaps the chair was 'fixed' Ronnie, I think you need to confess, NOW.
11 Oct 2012 4:10pm
@Michael Fresh: Well, yes, the chair has a bit of history to to it, must admit . . (Ronnie)

11 Oct 2012 7:23pm
Lol! Love the way you put images and stories together. But I'm surprised that those dowels are still intact - we certainly don't make things like we used to!
11 Oct 2012 7:42pm
OMG! She landed here 5 years ago, larger than life!! Cute capture!
11 Oct 2012 10:16pm
@Steven: That is either her or her Big Sister she told me about, Steven ! Strewth . . (Ronnie)
That's a clever broken chair. Maybe bigger timbers for the rebuild.
11 Oct 2012 10:33pm
Was this one of those build it yourself chairs Ronnie? Arlo will have some firewood to add to his collection. You guys are so clever!
12 Oct 2012 12:18am
LOL...possibly a bit more reinforcement is required! ;-))
12 Oct 2012 2:32am

12 Oct 2012 8:59am

Poor dancer, you should have choose an easier crash test for this chair
12 Oct 2012 10:56am
This artist I love ... his sculptures are great and spectacular ... No wonder he broke the chair ...! Another note creative and humorous ... Congratulations to the family! Best regards, Adela
12 Oct 2012 12:29pm
@Adela Fonts: Thank you, Adela . . wishing you a lovely weekend. (Ronnie)
I am treading lightly here. First of all, we have such a chair in our house that is very delicate. One day a dear friend (who has since passed away) who weighed over 400 pounds was posed to sit on this chair. We had to quickly whisk it away and replace with a sturdier one. Soon after that I was at a bridal shower for a woman of size, and when she sat on one of the chairs, it collapsed beneath her. Secondly, I was formerly a woman of bigger size so I can understand how difficult finding just the right spot can be. I hope the dancer was uninjured and skipped happily on her way. As for you, Ronnie, perhaps some glue and nails?
12 Oct 2012 7:51pm
@Ruthiebear: Oh, my . . the recollections our simple images bring to mind . . I, myself, remember an incident during the first week in my first job. A young guy attended an important meeting but was given a high stool to sit on. As the meeting droned on, he tucked his feet into the legs of the stool and started to rock it back and forth . . unfortunately, he rocked too far and fell into the middle of the room attached to the stool and rolled around on the floor with everyone staring at him. I remember hoping the whole of working life would be as funny as that . . but it wasn't ! (Ronnie)
;-))))
I hope you didn't have to catch her .. ;-))
12 Oct 2012 9:17pm
@curieuzeneuzemosterdpot: I am alive . . it tells us something ! (Ronnie)
I don't think she landed safely at all. I think she ended up clutching her posterior.
13 Oct 2012 1:59am
Life happens so fast leaving no time for precaution!!
13 Oct 2012 4:53am
@Othersideblue: Very well said . . I shall keep that in mind today. (Ronnie)

13 Oct 2012 5:10am
@☺ ► ƸɼiϾ ◄ ☼: "buy" ? . . I'll see if I can find some spare parts on the street, Eric ! (Ronnie)
@João Mourão: I'm still asking myself . . (Ronnie)
Amusante... ;o))) J'adore le dialogue et l'image...et les couleurs !!!!!
13 Oct 2012 8:33am
I had to search the internet to find out who this Niki woman was. I finally figured out she was the sculptor, not the dancer. :-) Thanks for broadening my world.
13 Oct 2012 11:19am
@Anita: . . weekend smiles, Anita . . I felt I understood the 'poster' myself but it is clear from the knowledge and research of others here that I kinda possibly sorta got it wrong . . happens ! (Ronnie) What refreshing honesty from you, Ronnie : is this the New You ? ( from Lilly )
A very funny story in pictures and just enough narrative to make it work. Very well done.
13 Oct 2012 5:47pm

15 Oct 2012 5:33pm
@Sue-Ann: You are welcome, Sue-Ann . . (Ronnie)
memories memories. I once sat in a chair that broke but I landed on my young butt still balancing the plate of food I had which made it ok. My brother broke a plastic molded chair is Las Vegas. I think he sued. :D
18 Oct 2012 2:46pm
@Joyce: Oh, this creates a far better image than we managed here ! We all try so hard in circumstances like that to make it seem nothing happened, don't we ?!! (Ronnie)
I think the chair cracked all by itself after taking a look at the Big Dancer! (I also cracked with surprise when I found myself face to face with Niki de Saint Phalle's statue of Black Power at the Hakone Open Air Museum, here in Japan! Now that was SOME Woman!)
20 Oct 2012 7:15am
@Japanalia: Some folks make a real impression, huh ?! (Ronnie)
