Are the old rather read a book or newspaper, much nicer and you can later use the newspaper to the fireplace to stabbing.
6 Dec 2012 2:45pm
That Sterre's translation is a funny post possibility. I "think" that I actually agree with it too. :-D This is fun post, Ronnie. Yesterday we sat with a friend that just bought one, and was saying how now he will be smart. I love your crusty grape smiley guy. Keep on smiling. Nothing is all that serious.
6 Dec 2012 2:56pm
@Joyce: You are right throughout in what you say there, Joyce . . a happy smile is always the best remedy. (Ronnie)
Free? Nothing is free!
(The face is very funny.)
Have a nice day.
6 Dec 2012 3:00pm
If I had a phone with am IQ of less than 90, could I have 2 tablets? I'm out of my usual horse tranquillisers, and my "Special friend" is enjoying a sojourn in one of Her Majesties finest hotels.
6 Dec 2012 3:09pm
@CElliottUK: iPhones and voting rights are often offered in those hotels, Chris . . good place to be, they say. (Ronnie)
I'm 200% with Ronnie this time! While reading with your tablet could never give you that actual feel of the newspaper, a newspaper could sometimes stand just like a tablet... I saw this!:-)
6 Dec 2012 3:32pm
@hugo poon: ha ha . . thanks for the extra smile in that link, Hugo - it is the 'new direction' so they tell me ! (Ronnie)
America land of the brave and free. Where everything is free..ha I like the humor. Although, one can never achieve the same feeling as holding a tangible newspaper. I like the smile too...funny :)
6 Dec 2012 3:46pm

6 Dec 2012 4:45pm
@grouser: Sorry, Grouser . . I seem to have a habit of that for no reason I can think of - but you cannot be more worried than me when I look at the cost of going into care . . (Ronnie - Rosebud Ward)
6 Dec 2012 5:47pm
A sign of the times ... I enjoy reading the actual newspaper, books, etc ... I'm old fashioned! Fantastic story and photos :)
6 Dec 2012 6:35pm
@RBL: Yes, agree with you on the books and (free) newspapers although I accept most of my news is read online and Lilly has finally convinced me to go Kindle for books . . might even upgrade the Box Brownie ! (Ronnie)
Ronnie, the eternal optimist. I, personally do not like the news and avoid it if at all possible. I do love my ipad for reading books. I can adjust the font to as large as I want. ALmost as large as the FREE ad. Your breakfast looks delightful. We should all start our days with a smile, don't you think?
6 Dec 2012 7:43pm
@Ruthiebear: We should have smiles handy at all times of the day, Ruthie - they are the answer to most problems. (Ronnie)
Make this happen, everything is free, but the account is not optional and unexpectedly high! But while the news is free, I remain yummy!
6 Dec 2012 8:24pm
@Hanry: hee hee . . we should all play the system ! (Ronnie)
Ronnie, you don't deserve so ironic comment, I'd almost say sarcastic.

6 Dec 2012 11:39pm
@john4jack: But there is something in all of us that wants to believe there is . . even while knowing there isn't . . (Ronnie Believing)
There is something about a newspaper. I like folding the different sections to read and tearing out stuff that I want to keep. I don't think I could give that up but I do read my books on Kindle. I just have to remember to keep the battery charged! I like your crusty smile. Don't give that up Ronnie!
7 Dec 2012 12:23am
@Elaine Hancock: What a nice Comment to read with my first coffee . . something tells me we are ALL better people than 'they' say we are ! (Ronnie)
: ) Oh how we try to fool each other, yes? Imagine a world where everything was truly as it was said it was.
- no fine print - no competition - no pretend this or pretend that - I do believe we've out clever-ed ourselves on this wee planet. But that is a story for another day. Meanwhile - enjoy the newspaper...
not long for this world I suspect. Love the feel of the real. : )
7 Dec 2012 2:09am
@Becky: We sure live in a wold that is increasingly unreal . . where we need to question everything . . even question ourselves, at times. (Ronnie)
It's too late in the day to come up with anything unique ... all the clever statements have been offered. ... I'll stick w/my internet news (when I check it) and Kindle for books ... so easy in bed. ;D
7 Dec 2012 2:17am
@Judy aka L@dybug: Watching the thread of Comments weave their magic here is a constant entertainment and they so often go off into areas unthought of when we took the two images . . thanks Judy and Everyone. ( from Lilly and Ronnie )
I guess I am "old school." I will never be able to let go of the real thing.......newspapers with real pages forever.
7 Dec 2012 4:19am
@Steven: Many years since I paid money for a newspaper although I do still buy paper books . . much to Lilly's amusement. (Ronnie)
so funny !
7 Dec 2012 5:03am
A great offer.
7 Dec 2012 6:23am
Hey Ronnie, with the free newspaper you will actually be able to read the "fine print" to see how much the free tablet and free smartphone will set you back.
7 Dec 2012 6:30am
@Bill Brown: Y'd think so, Bill . . but, even with a magnifying glass, the small print leaves me wondering ! (Ronnie)
You're a magician in the world of imagination and good humor ... Thanks ... ! Best regards L.and R, Adela
7 Dec 2012 8:15am

7 Dec 2012 10:04am
@Curly: Y're right, Curly - I thought it was only me who noticed these trends. (Ronnie)
What are you going to read at breakfast when newspapers go away? :)
7 Dec 2012 11:01am
@Julie L. Brown: Tea Leaves in the cup, Julie - they are likely to be more accurate than most newspapers ! (Gypsy Ronnie)

Father Christmas should bring a radio. :-)
@Florence: That's a great idea, Florence . . I could hook that up to a streetlight and feel like I am a man of the 20th Century ! (Ronnie Arrived)

8 Dec 2012 8:31am
@Gemma Wiseman: . . yes, I liked that expression of Lilly's, too . . it has a strange reality to it for no reason I can sanely think of. (Ronnie)
Nothing comes in freely....You might have learned it by now (?) As for newspapers...hmm...I can read them on the net. But NEVER when it comes to BOOKS! That's a REAL PLEASURE to hold a book in your hand! It will never be compared with holding a newspaper in your hand..it always gets dirty....
8 Dec 2012 1:11pm
@Japanalia: I sometimes pick up one of the free newspapers to read on a train but I tend to agree with you on the sense of 'contact' that a paper book has to it . . Enjoy the weekend, Gabriela. (Ronnie)
