Lilly : I cannot help but think that litter bins are wasted - often empty, Ronnie.
Ronnie : Not wasted here - with the shortage of accommodation folks move in overnight.
Lilly : Well, must admit that's a nice place they got there.

Funny and nice and clean this photo to evoke household waste!
9 Jan 2014 9:09am
and where else are the local foxes and gulls supposed to go for their food?
9 Jan 2014 11:20am
@Jules: Strange you mention that - I had to release a large gull from a bin like mine here this week : it had dropped in for food but could only get out by flying and the wings would not go through the opening. (Ronnie)
Rather drafty and smelly I think ......... but with a proper roof and large windows on the top floor .........
Not bad at all!!
9 Jan 2014 11:49am
Aha Ronnie..
I am reminded of Johnathon Livingston Seagull....
" If you think you CAN, you CAN..."
And I CAN imagine a lot of things :))))))))))))))))))CAN you beat it ?
UnCANny !!!
An outdoor macro kitchen CANister !!
Smoking CANabis inside ( far from prying eyes of the cops!!)
Must read the CANterbury Tales again....
9 Jan 2014 12:32pm
@Devi: ha ha . . I CAN tell you enjoyed this one ! (Uncanny Ronnie)
Great view from the penthouse suite but can you afford the rent?!
9 Jan 2014 2:39pm
oh gee, funny how they sit right there to the right!
9 Jan 2014 4:53pm
Nothing better than living in a high rise building, eh? They appear to be really enjoying this :-)
9 Jan 2014 5:34pm
ps - goes to show that anyone "CAN"
9 Jan 2014 5:34pm
Love the new tenants. They look happy to have found their place.
9 Jan 2014 5:43pm
I guess the tenants can boast of a good view and low maintenance living. He he - you're off to a good start this year guys:)
9 Jan 2014 5:53pm
I take it as a good alternative if no accommodation available on the road…except, maybe, for the smell…but these two seem rather satisfied...
9 Jan 2014 6:04pm
Very funny. At least it is all exterior, very well aerated, and with an unimpeded view to the garden.
9 Jan 2014 6:09pm
@Francisco Romero: Yes, and refuse collected twice-daily ! (Ronnie)
Perfect shot Ronnie ! Apropo .... Ronnie, there in your is not frost and snow?
9 Jan 2014 10:29pm
@Frankiess: No frost or snow for me in the UK but USA-Lilly has had enough to last a lifetime over the last couple weeks ! (Ronnie)
The new thing is micro living. This would work just fine. A great view and nice surroundings!
9 Jan 2014 10:34pm
@Elaine Hancock: Actually, I'm beginning to warm to it myself ! (Ronnie)
Views to die for from the penthouse...
9 Jan 2014 10:53pm
After a recent experience in Madrid (Spain) and other cities in the country where a sweepers strike took place, I can assure you that it's preferible to have often empty litter bins than with surplus of garbage. :) In those cases, no accommodation is recomended. ;-)
10 Jan 2014 12:06am
@Josep: Yes, I can just remember extremes of that kind in the UK many years ago . . we called it 'The Winter of Discontent' . . some of us are still discontented ! (Ronnie)
@Judy aka L@dybug: I keep meaning to ask Lilly what the |C|A|N| is about . . it might have originally said 'CANS', I suppose !
@Harry: . . spoken like a realtor, sir ! (Ronnie)
can signifie pouvoir en anglais où ces doudous ne veulent pas se retrouver dans la poubelle mais peuvent y trouver un compagnon ...
10 Jan 2014 8:04am
@L'angevine: Ils ont l'air heureux ensemble, aussi ! (R)

10 Jan 2014 3:33pm
Superb! I am hoping the tenants use a lot of air freshener and antibacterial wipes before moving in :) Great capture and very humorous.
10 Jan 2014 6:15pm
hmmm .. this is a lot more luxurious than a cardboard box?
10 Jan 2014 10:24pm
@curieuzeneuzemosterdpot: Arguably . . but there was a guy sleeping on a park bench further along . . . we makes our choices . . (Ronnie)
Wood is more comfortable that metal and concrete.
11 Jan 2014 2:59am
@Julie L. Brown: Arlo would be with you on that one, Julie. (Ronnie)
A fun composition. Tenants who invite to use the trash next door!
11 Jan 2014 9:18am
@Jean-Louis Guianvarc'h: Oh, yes, I'd overlooked that advantage - and regular collections, too ! Have a great w/e, J-L. (Ronnie)
I'm happy to see that those homeless guys have found a roof on their head!
11 Jan 2014 10:34am
As always an excellent dialogue and ironic! put me in a good mood! Best, Adela
11 Jan 2014 1:15pm
Ils attendent d'être adpotés!!! Superbe composition.
11 Jan 2014 2:34pm
How clever! Since the bin is not utilised anyway! Now its to hope somebody throws in a fresh burger! :)
11 Jan 2014 3:19pm
... and they have a lovely view, too ... if nothing hits them on the head !!!
11 Jan 2014 7:47pm
I see this as a sad reflection of places where some people are forced to live - the homeless. I think of those who seek shelter under a bridge. They may have a view of a river but...The comment on "shortage of accommodation...." is the clue. Lilly refers to our throw away society damping rubbish on the landscape, but Ronnie turns the dialogue.
12 Jan 2014 5:38am
@Gemma Wiseman: One of the pleasures of O2S is that we often share unexpected interpretations of the images. As we each went out looking for material for this posting, we both came across folk searching bins for something to eat . . ( L&R )
actually, i don´t know what to write... i am smiling, once again! thanks for that ;)
12 Jan 2014 7:33am
@Ol: You would certainly smile if you saw the strange looks I got placing those critters there in a busy public park : and bagging them and taking them away got me even more stares !! (Ronnie)
Ils ont une préférence pour les constructions en bois. Bon dimanche
JP
12 Jan 2014 9:44am
@jpla: Oui, un choix judicieux, je pense / Yes, a wise choice, I think ! (Ronnie)
Elle est très belle et très touchante cette photo! J'aime beaucoup!
12 Jan 2014 11:13am
@mo.langel: Merci - avoir un beau dimanche. ( L&R )
Funny.. What a nice place for a conversation ! Well Done !
12 Jan 2014 11:33am
@Rafael: Yes, they do look so happy there ! ( from Lilly )
Too cute these both and brilliant recycling of trash cans :)
12 Jan 2014 5:37pm
Hotel with built in restaurant though I suppose the menu is du jour and unpredictable. Clever but I hope these little folk left with you when the shoot was over. So sad to see homeless stuffies.
12 Jan 2014 11:54pm
@Eruaistaniel: Ah, yes, they safely returned home !
Thank you and everyone here for all the imaginative Comments : much appreciated. ( Lilly and Ronnie )
