Lilly : Do you watch the cocoa content of the chocolate you eat, Ronnie ?
Ronnie : No - I'm more keen on making sure no sugar has been added.
Lilly : . . and, then, you add it yourself, I see . . .

20 Mar 2014 6:17am
@Devi: A toothless smile . . (Gummie)
20 Mar 2014 6:31am
So you're not sweet enough then Ronnie !
20 Mar 2014 7:08am
@Doug: Oh, when last tested, I was way off the scale. But they did not say what end. (Ronnie)
Chocolate ..... the sweeter the better :-)) I'm eating it right now in my porridge ...........
20 Mar 2014 7:48am
@Ellebelle: Chocolate porridge ?! What have I been missing in life ? (Ronnie)
A great idea to add just enough sugar to satisfy your taste - the personal touch.
20 Mar 2014 7:56am
Ahh - I must admit that with chocolate, I am with Lilly in being on the dark side.
20 Mar 2014 9:55am
Gotta watch out for the 'no added sugar' products. Sometimes that means there are artificial sweeteners in it.
20 Mar 2014 10:25am
@Julie L. Brown: Oh, my . . I just looked : "contains Maltitol, Lactitol .. may produce laxative effects" Gotta go for now ! (Ronnie)
Sometimes you need that spoon full of sugar :)
20 Mar 2014 10:27am
@Sarito: " . . A Spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down" ♪♪
Very naughty, Ronnie!
20 Mar 2014 10:44am
I thought Lilly was your sweetener, you need more:)
20 Mar 2014 11:33am
Sugar don't keep me blue long
Come in my Oolong
and sweeten the day for me
But Ronnie, not that kind
It's far too refined
20 Mar 2014 12:25pm
That way you can control the amount of damage you are inflicting on yourself Ronnie! ;-))
20 Mar 2014 1:27pm
20 Mar 2014 1:35pm
Excellent dialogue. I think when these bans ... no fat, no cocoa, no sugar, no salt, coffee ... no ... no ... no nothing sadder than life! Best regards dear! A hug, Adela
20 Mar 2014 1:36pm
@Adela Fonts: I'm with you on this, of course, Adela ! (Ronnie)
Pour moi, cela sera du Lindt assurément ;)
20 Mar 2014 3:43pm
Thanks ronnie but I prefer the Excellence Lindt chocolat ! And with a cup of coffee, that with ' flower of salt ' added :)
20 Mar 2014 4:40pm
Lilly - how to choose among those delicious chocolates? Ronnie, do not be taken in by those sugar free products - they do not taste good, no matter how much sugar you add. ANd they have some very uncomfortable side effects (speaking from experience)
20 Mar 2014 5:31pm
@Ruthiebear: I feel bad already, now . . (R)
The same sweet treat on both sides of the Atlantic.
20 Mar 2014 5:51pm
Someone was in Wal-Mart recently, I see. :-) I must admit I'm with Ronnie on this one. :-)
20 Mar 2014 6:27pm
I just bought the same chocolate with 95%, need add sugar or eat with sweet chocolate. The taste is not great.
20 Mar 2014 6:45pm
Mmmmm... chocolate.....can I taste ?
20 Mar 2014 8:05pm
Well looking for free sugar chocolate is a waste of time esp. if you add horrible denatured white one. What about nice complete organic sugar cane ?
20 Mar 2014 8:39pm
Your life similar to chocolate (99%) & Lilly like sugar for it. :)
20 Mar 2014 8:53pm
ah, lilly, the 70% one is my favourite ... no sugar for me, either ;-)
20 Mar 2014 9:19pm
I too like some sugar in the chocolate. Very clever way to control its content to be sure it is to your taste. Very good image for conveying the message.
20 Mar 2014 9:27pm
ohhh .. this is so funny! ;-)))))
and sweet, ofcourse! :-))
20 Mar 2014 10:03pm
aha, what a painful way to eat chocolate Ronnie! ;-))
21 Mar 2014 2:11am
@Abena: How did you know I have toothache ?! (Ronnie)
I see that some marketing genius has determined that deep blue packaging sells chocolate/cocoa best. What color package did your sugar come in, Ronnie?
21 Mar 2014 2:50am
@Harry: BLUE !!
21 Mar 2014 9:28am
@L'angevine: Yums ! (R)
Three "observations" that I've made while analyzing your new piece:
1/ Lilly, Ronnie! How did you know I would be eating chocolate when looking through new Aminus3 posts? Magic! Watch out for burning stakes in your vicinity ;)
2/ Ronnie, don't let them drive you up the wall with that no sugar fad! Moderate amounts of sugar have never killed anybody (see 1/ above). Exaggeration in any direction might be unhealthy. One of elderly persons in my family has blood pressure issues so the doctor told her she should watch out for salt in her foods. She cut down on it so much that she almost eliminated the ingredient from her diet. During a medical checkup that followed her dietary restrictions it came up that she should consider a sprinkle of salt on her tomato from time to time... It seems that ancient Greeks were right when they rambled about the golden mean.
3/ And finally, the Ogden Nash's quote "Candy is dandy but liquer is quicker". I don't know why this came up to my mind, because I don't drink alcohol, but maybe some folks who are currently considering cutting down on sugar will find comfort in these words of wisdom.
21 Mar 2014 9:40am
@Pnyks: I've not seen mention of the Golden Mean since I was studying under Aristotle . . 'symmetry, proportion, harrrrmony' we had to chant over and over while sitting before our slates. (Ronnie)
Une bonne pub pour notre très bon chocolat suisse!:)

I would like 95% dark chocolate, it 's good for women if taste some a day...:-)
21 Mar 2014 3:57pm
"No Sugar Added" would definitely not satisfy my sweet tooth. I need the real stuff!
21 Mar 2014 9:46pm
Matt Lauer from the Today show said that researchers have discovered that chocolate produces some of the same reactions in the brain as marijuana. The researchers also discovered other similarities between the two but can't remember what they are.
Ummm, now... what were we saying?

22 Mar 2014 9:51am
@tataray: Entièrement d'accord avec vous ! (Ronnie)
Chocolate seems to go through seasons of being great for our systems and being bad. But still we chocoholics munch on regardless. Clearly Ronnie likes to drown his chocolate with sweetness.
22 Mar 2014 10:25am
@Gemma Wiseman: You are so right about how the 'guidance' changes by the day on these 'healthy eating' issues . . (Ronnie)
Too sweet lose the taste of good chocolate.

May think of cutting off sugar totally, but we do take a lot of it!
22 Mar 2014 3:09pm
@mohkum: You had me checking the listed '10 Worst Things to Eat' (chocolate was not one of them) and, of those ten, I consume only one - 'processed meat'. Here's the Report : "These are also sometimes referred to as 'mystery meats' because it's ambiguous as to what some of them actually contain. But you can be assured that if it comes from a can and is kind of unrecognisable — it's not going to be great for your body. Try to steer clear of sausages and salamis too; these food stuffs are generally all the unwanted bits churned up with fat and salt - we are talking heads, knees and toes (plus a few other less-desirable body bits)." (Ronnie-less-desirable)
Un peu de sucre ne peut pas faire de mal, Ronnie.

@shooter: Thank you . . and yes ! (Ronnie)
Guilty here too! I would add sugar to everything if I could. That 95 cocoa looks delicious. MMMM... Not cheap though. :) BTW - I loved your special viewing on AM3 - Absolutely wonderful that it was
you two comic geniuses were featured!
23 Mar 2014 6:50am
@Becky: Hi, Becky. Yes, it was a treasured moment to be 'featured' on AM3 and the process of looking back like that was odd for us because we are both 'forward-looking' people - the Future is the only part of ourselves any of us can change ! (Lilly and Ronnie )
The best one! Lindt Swiss chocolate! Nice composition.
23 Mar 2014 8:02am
@maximage: Yes, the best for sure - and one of the most expensive. Right now, it is on 'special offer' here at close to half-price and I am stocking up for an overweight future ! (Ronnie)

Cheers Chocolate!!!!! Too bad for weight.
23 Mar 2014 11:12am

23 Mar 2014 5:21pm
@Marie-France: ha ha. . oui, la cupidité, l'avidité, la cupidité - have a good week ahead. (Ronnie)
Really interesting subject. Made me want a candy bar :)
23 Mar 2014 5:48pm
@CreatednotFound: It does have that effect but all I have here is that 'no added sugar' bar in the image which, frankly, is not very tempting ! (Ronnie)
Péché de gourmandise…
23 Mar 2014 5:51pm
@Calusarus: yum-yum (Ronnie)
I Love chocolate - anyway, anytime, anyhow, anywhere, but, indeed the closer it is to "real" cocao, the better I like...Brings back that good old "Madagascar" tune: "I Like to move it Move it!"
23 Mar 2014 7:25pm
ps- Lilli, come on over to Pennsylvania - we have Hershey's chocolate - They Don't put ANYTHING natural in their chocolate....I am a Ghirardelli Man myself...

Not good for the teeth!! but who cares?
23 Mar 2014 8:41pm
@Kate: Really ? I'd check mine but I cannot remember where I put them . . (Gummie)
Funny to see this today, after having listened to a podcast about the deleterious effects of sugar. I still go for milk chocolate.
23 Mar 2014 10:05pm
@Anita Bower: Yes, I prefer milk choc . . unfortunately, it is all so easy to eat :: If we had to harvest it, prepare it, mix and cook it, freeze it and thaw it I doubt any of us would bother to eat it ! (Ronnie)
Such a sweet collage !!! :)) With this couple of images, you show a good taste... ;-)
23 Mar 2014 11:26pm
@Josep: Yay ! Way to go. (L&R)
You are just making me have a piece of chocolate that i'm keeping in my fridge.
24 Mar 2014 12:08am
@Rafael: ha ha . . yes, I have a stock there from when a local shop made a mistake with special pricing ! (Ronnie)
As long as its Cadburys - wh?o cares?
24 Mar 2014 9:07am
Le 95% de cacao, c'est très bon pour la santé ;-)
24 Mar 2014 4:07pm
Ha, ha ... I bought some 79% cocoa that is so bitter I can barely get it down; guess I'll have to try Ronnie's trick w/a spoonful of sugar. ;D
25 Mar 2014 12:19am
@Judy aka L@dybug: Currently, I an overdosing on Lindt Lindor white . . I may be gone for some while ! (Ronnie)
Ha, this is so true - I'm on 100% and... a little biscuit with it ;))
25 Mar 2014 11:37am
l'éternel dilemme des amateurs de chocolat soucieux de leur ligne
plus de chocolat =moins de sucre mais plus de graisse :(
70 ou 75 est peu être le juste compromis qui évite de rajouter un gateau ^^
