Lilly : Some businesses here seem determined to be unhelpful.
Ronnie : Same here - they aim not to serve, Lilly.
Lilly : You be careful not to ask for directions and find you have bought a house !

@Jypyä Pop: So true, JP. (Ronnie)
Voici des instructions claires, précises et indiscutables! Belle composition super drôle comme d'habitude!
Have a nice day
16 Feb 2015 5:57am
@maximage: Oui, assurez-vous se clair ! (R)
Lilly that door looks quite forbidding with those locks, and I worry what might happen if you should walk through if insurance is so important ! And Ronnie be careful if that's a London estate agent you may end up having a very expensive mortgage or lease on a cardboard box if you ask for directions !
16 Feb 2015 7:55am
@Doug: Doug, I think they wanted to charge me for taking the photograph ! (Ronnie)
Forgotten words: No Photography! :)
...
...
very nice shot!
such beautiful frame, colors, lighting & textures!
16 Feb 2015 8:57am
@omid: Yes - they missed that one but did give me a nasty look ! Have a great week, Omid. (Ronnie)
A few words are enough, nice photo presentation.
16 Feb 2015 9:42am
Reminds me of trips into Wales (or France) - its a holiday weekend so all the shops and cafes are shut.
16 Feb 2015 9:47am
@Brockaly: Yes, I've lived in places where it always seemed to be Sunday . . (Ronnie)
Looks like a good place to go in and see if they can change a fiver for you Ronnie
16 Feb 2015 10:41am
Most unhelpful businesses. I like the contrast between the elegant and the plain signs.
16 Feb 2015 10:42am
But our customers ask us to work before and after business hours !
16 Feb 2015 12:18pm
One wonders what to do and especially what they do :)) Excellent !!!
16 Feb 2015 1:10pm
I'm glad I made it today ..
those 'business' hours. ;-))

Seems like the person who wrote the list of "no's" was in a really bad mood! Maybe you should bring a little bouquet of flowers by Ronnie and brighten their day! These are both great finds! I need to pay a little more attention to signs.
16 Feb 2015 2:11pm
@Elaine Hancock: Well, certainly my signs were written by someone desperate to stay on-topic ! (R)
@Veronique: Yes ? Nowhere to turn, then. (Ronnie)
In fact, I can think of several businesses that are unhelpful though they open lots of hours a day... :) It's not a matter of quantity but of quality... Talking about quality... how can anyone post any notice like that on R ??? Is it real ? And... hasn't he been fired ??!! :)
'Real life' is what allows us to share these moments too ;-) See you on every Monday from now !!
16 Feb 2015 3:02pm
@Josep: Thanks, Josep, and, yes, the notices are for real . . mine in the window of an international estate agent in London. (Ronnie)
At least O2S's insurance company will still allow visitors Tuesdays through Sundays!! I can only hope the Monday visits won't lead to Aminus3 crashes. :-)
16 Feb 2015 3:11pm
More and more business seem to cater to no one but themselves. The day of service with a smile is now past. At least you can make us smile about it, though
16 Feb 2015 4:01pm
@Ruthiebear: Well, if they offered service even without a smile it would be something, Ruthie ! ( from Lilly )
You have put me in a good mood! You always do! Thank you very much friend! very good work! Hugs to you, Adela
16 Feb 2015 4:23pm
@Adela Fonts: That's nice, Adela - thankyou. ( from Lilly and Ronnie )
And if ...I FIND something ...??!! Superb composition .
16 Feb 2015 5:06pm
@Mhelene: Oh, that will come under 'Lost Property' - a 'No', I'm afraid. (Ronnie)
@Francisco Romero: . . and real, too ! ( from Lilly )
@fateme@@: Thank you, Fateme - I have really enjoyed your 'creeper' series ! (Ronnie)
Those signs are almost as bad as calling a customer service helpline only to find the representative speaks some form of English far removed from mine. That doesn't necessarily mean the person is in another country. Some accents are quite "foreign" to my ear.
16 Feb 2015 8:51pm
@Steve Rice: haha . . yes, I know the type - they usually ask me to speak more clearly ! (Ronnie)
@Pierre: Very much so, sadly. (R)
The good thing it's they do not make a misleading advertising ! Excellente correspondence as usual ! :)
16 Feb 2015 10:07pm
@Kiki: Yes, they do make themselves real clear ! (R)
It's good that they took the time and effort to clarify their position...
16 Feb 2015 11:02pm
@Daryl Johnson: Yes, surprising , ,
So formal and precise about their unwillingness; what is this world coming to?
(The understatement of this century!)
17 Feb 2015 12:32am
@Judy aka L@dybug: A sad but true assessment of our times, Judy . . (Ronnie)
I love that door. It would look great in my house.
No lost property? How do they ensure that?
17 Feb 2015 4:14am
@Michael Rawluk: I think what they mean is that, if you lose something, don't come to them asking. There is a 'lost property' office along the street that does not make itself clear and I guess folks call on this place instead . . just a guess. (Ronnie)
This is a great moment of temptation...
While there's no one around, I might sneak in here and paint this on the real estate one," Close for business. Shifted to Timbuktoo."
17 Feb 2015 6:00am
@Devi: Yes, 'nearest branch' ! (R)
THIS is EUROPE...NOW! And everybody is worried to death about "what can we do to improve the economy in Europe"!!! In Japan, Saturdays and Sundays are THE DAYS for shopping, buying cars and houses and offering all sorts of services to people! (Even...not wanted services, too!)
17 Feb 2015 7:21am
@Japanalia: Strangely enough, my signs are in the window of a Japanese property company here in London ! (Ronnie)
That's a lot of No's .... prefer yes's, but hey :-) .... maybe tomorrow .....;-)

17 Feb 2015 7:36am
I think these places are actually training facilities for conservative politicians!
17 Feb 2015 11:06am
No loock, no comment no be happy...... It's very sad!
But, you, have a nica day, of course!!!! :) :)
17 Feb 2015 11:22am
@Ana Lúcia: No, no . . you must not ask for information ! (R)
I understand them very well indeed, Ronnie! They must have had some very "dark moments" in their daily work with the public in London!!!
17 Feb 2015 3:02pm
@Japanalia: I think you might be right ! (Ronnie)
Happy Silly Tuesday. The customer is always right huh. Dream again.
17 Feb 2015 7:27pm
@Bruce: Yeah, both smack of bad public relations - how wrong can it be ?! (R)
Just brilliant!! Very clever to present them this way. I'm always amazed at the attitude conveyed in these notices. Perhaps we will go elsewhere!!
17 Feb 2015 7:43pm
@kiwisa: Yes, it is strange the attitude that some businesses adopt . . (R)
Looks like a very helpful bunch. I wonder if they have a public restroom. Nice find.
17 Feb 2015 9:06pm
@Jim Wilson: haha . . I'm tempted to call in and ask, now !! (Ronnie)
My friend's family just bought a flat in London this just about personifies their experience with their agent!!
18 Feb 2015 3:17am
@CreatednotFound: Yes, a much-criticized occupation and with spiraling UK property prices there is a touch of insanity about it all. (Ronnie)
So "beyond the call of duty" is now only a museum curiosity. Progress means limitations. Progress means regressions. Love paradoxes.
18 Feb 2015 7:23am
@Gemma Wiseman: These are sad times. Gemma . . (Ronnie)
@Stephen: . . smiles . . yes, there is a touch of that ! (Ronnie)
Yes, it is a sign of our times ! (Ronnie)
This kind of approach in fact promote true business? Wonderful images here!
18 Feb 2015 5:10pm
@Evelyne Dubos: Yes . . both are genuine and 'on the the street' ! (Ronnie)
Lilly's seems more official. Good composition.
18 Feb 2015 11:41pm
@Irene: Yes, very 'official' I thought. Thank you, Irene. (R)
Well, at least the sign on the left is outspoken in its unfriendliness. The mealy-mouthed sign on the right tries to deflect its negativity to some unspecified outside party. There is a store that I never returned to when I brought back an item for repair Its sign said something like:
"In order to serve you better, we no longer accept warranty repairs at this store. For your convenience, you can deliver items requiring service to " (a store several miles away). "If you are unable to deliver your item to that store. we can arrange a courier delivery for" (a price slightly lower than buying a new one). "We appreciate your business." Yeah, I can see that.
19 Feb 2015 3:33am
@Harry: Ah, yes, 'message received' : "We rather you did not shop here again" ! (R)
Belle composition et toujours très drôle. )
20 Feb 2015 7:47am
@tataray: Merci - plus aimable. (L&R)
@Aly: Thank you, friend - and you. (L&R)
So true and so hilarious. Real estate agents usually seem to thrive in making their customers unhappy or give reasons to complaint :)
21 Feb 2015 5:57am
@Nitin: Yes, same the world over it seems ! (Ronnie)
Ha ha.. the way you have presented, you have brought out the funny side of these serious notice's.
21 Feb 2015 12:53pm
The sign on the left is much more official-looking.
23 Feb 2015 12:30pm
@Julie L. Brown, Photobirder: True . . but we live in times where 'official' can feel suspicious ! (Ronnie)
