4 Jan 2016 3:17pm
@franz: Smiles . . we toyed with several explanations ourselves on this one ! (Ronnie)
Flowers started to bloom here a couple of weeks ago and my dogs started shedding their winter coats it was so warm. Now today it is only 35 degrees F (1 C). Those poor flowers are so confused and my dogs are cold!
4 Jan 2016 5:30pm
@Elaine Hancock: Yes, there is a price to pay for all those unscheduled warm days . . . (R)

We had to put the AC on for Christmas Day this year. Now it is 29 (F) today but the sun is shining. No snow in sight here in NJ. No flowers in bloom either.
4 Jan 2016 6:01pm

@curieuzeneuzemosterdpot: Yes, that sounds very much like it is in London . . (Ronnie)
Great composition of contrasts!! While we are in winter, it's nowhere near as bad as last year.....yet. And the days are finally getting longer once again.
5 Jan 2016 12:11am
@Steven: "Yet" is the operative word for all of us . . we shall see . . (Ronnie)
If I were that flower I would run through that hole in the fence in search of warmer weather.... Though if I were a flower, I would be rooted in place and would have to suffer whatever mother nature sent.
5 Jan 2016 2:34am

Perhaps the worlds are connected by a wormhole originating in the flower image.

Wonderful juxtaposition of trapped snow and new flowers trying their luck! Just what our new climate is like!!!

The contrast has been very nicely presented. I gladly communicate that cold, snow in the mountains, and the heating bill are now at their usual levels for this time of the year.

Warm, wet, damp weather for us most of December and today it is only 29 degrees... it will be a short winter this year! Wonderful set of photos! Doing well, thanks for asking; been busy with DIY home improvements for the past 6 months. Have a great night!

Our weather is twisted too. There are scattered summer days on my Mornington Peninsula, but cool, often strong winds and cool nights feature too. Some of the trees have been losing their leaves. And yet, in the west of Australia, it is hot, hot, hot.
7 Jan 2016 9:18am
@Gemma Wiseman: Yes, I was reading about some of this . . climate seems to be distorted all over . . . (Ronnie)
