@jpla: Abacus peut être difficile ! (Ronnie)
You can count on Ronnie .......... always up to date!!!
29 Feb 2016 7:58am
@Ellebelle: Neat wordplay there ! (R)
I like this! I choose the L, but I like the detail of the pen with the calculator :)
29 Feb 2016 8:38am
Such a colourful abacus you have Lilly- somedays I feel I need one of one of those micro-mini versions Ronnie uses. Good luck with the quill there Ronnie:)
29 Feb 2016 9:11am
@kiwisa: Thankyou ! (R)
Quill stylus ? Impressive Ronnie..
But now it's touch... and very soon we'll have eye-stylus...look at the screen and Lo!! We'll have things happening :)))
29 Feb 2016 11:13am
@Devi: . . yes, just imagine . . or, perhaps not !! (Ronnie)
The abacus looks clean and beautiful. But the CASIO looks dirty and old.
29 Feb 2016 11:16am
@Hiro: Ah, that calculator goes back many years . . (R)
By Failure/batteries Lilly can still count :-)
29 Feb 2016 11:45am
That is a nice abacus!
29 Feb 2016 12:03pm
Pour calculer, il faut choisir entre l'efficacité et l'esthétique: la "calculette" de Lilly est tout de même plus belle!
To calculate, choose between efficiency and aesthetics: the "calculator" Lilly is still more beautiful!
29 Feb 2016 12:29pm
@Jean-Louis Guianvarc'h: Thank you. ( from Lilly )
It occurs in two stages in developing the calculator.
29 Feb 2016 1:27pm
This is so cool. The abacus is an ancient device. The Casio, in terms of electronic devices, is just as ancient. The stylus is a perfect touch.
29 Feb 2016 2:58pm
@Steve Rice: Technology gathers pace . . frightening, really. (Ronnie)
I know we can count on Ronnie to give us a laugh, even if this one is a bit calculated :-)
29 Feb 2016 2:59pm
The abacus looks lovely! Of course I have a casio too, but no stylus... I love the way you look back on old things and how we have changed our way of living! Great composition!
29 Feb 2016 4:49pm
Today, modern age is old.
29 Feb 2016 5:12pm
@Graciel·la (Vic. Catalonia): Indeed, by the time the stuff is on the shelves, it is outdated ! (R)
Very well done, clear picture and short story.
29 Feb 2016 5:29pm
Last weekend I tried to help my 12 year old grandson with his math homework. When I looked at his process, I felt like I was using Lilly's abacus and Ronnie's stylus all wrapped into one. May I please borrow your tools so I can get myself back up to speed?
29 Feb 2016 6:10pm
@Ruthiebear: These are indeed frightening tines . . know the feeling.
Deux mondes complètement différents! Etonnante et spectaculaire comparaison. Super bien vu comme d'hab.
29 Feb 2016 6:33pm
@maximage: Merci - avoir une bonne semaine, Max.
That is one big, colorful abacus!! But do stay away when spotting one in a doctor's office.
Ronnie and a calculator just don't add up.
29 Feb 2016 7:19pm
@Steven: Grateful for the guidance here, Steven . .
excellent!!
your creativity knows no bounds!! :-))
29 Feb 2016 7:21pm
ah, when life was still easy and uncomplicated .... but by the looks of your 'machines', you both seem to be 'late' (as in cal-cu)!
29 Feb 2016 8:32pm
Yes but Ronnie, just think of the great diversity of that abacus! It would be a perfect drying rack for laundered socks!
29 Feb 2016 9:17pm
@Denny Jump Photo: 'Laundry, socks, drying . . ? A whole new world to me . . (Ronnie)
Cool. Nice one, the old and new, well not so new these days lol.
29 Feb 2016 9:23pm
This abacus almost looks more modern than this mini calculator and the feather ... Excellent composition !!!
29 Feb 2016 11:00pm
@Baldwin VW: Yes, I think it has the edge on sophistication ! (R)
I have a feeling that the abacus there is more modern than Ronnie's calculator with attached quill!
29 Feb 2016 11:46pm
@Elaine Hancock: I've sent off a smoke signal to the provider, Elaine . . he might send a runner with a reply before sundown. . (Ronnie)
The abacus looks way newer than that calculator.
1 Mar 2016 1:47am
@Michael Rawluk: A hint of truth there, I think . .
A sweet pair of calculating devices. Arlo would certainly appreciate the sturdy wooden construction of the abacus, and a more modern man would swoon over the advanced circuitry of the calculator. But I betry my age when I admit I learned my advanced math on a device you skipped over - the slide rule! Of course, finding one to photograph would be a challenge.
1 Mar 2016 2:07am
@Harry: Ah, yes, a serious omission there . . I do remember an 'elderly' guy still using a slide-rule in the first office I worked in . . a time of massive change. (Ronnie) And the horse-bus, Ronnie, and the lamplighters coming around in the evenings . . ( from Lilly )
Be careful, 'Ronnie. I quote from Casio's manual, "In no event will Casio and its suppliers be liable to you or any other person for any damages, including any incidental or consequential expenses, lost profits…"
1 Mar 2016 3:32am
@B. Thomas: If I had known that I would have stayed with the abacus ! (Ronnie)
Two ways to do the same thing ... well done
1 Mar 2016 3:46am
I like the tiny fruit on the abacus - must be the original apple computer!
1 Mar 2016 9:10am
@Stephen: hahaha . . nice one !! (R)
Tellement pratique la calculette !!...... :))))
1 Mar 2016 9:12am
@tataray: . . ainsi, les deux sont à portée de main, mais le boulier est plus facile à trouver!. . well, both are handy but the abacus is easier to find ! (R)
For aesthetics I take the abacus and the efficiency calculator. Superb idea well imaged. Bravo
1 Mar 2016 10:35am
Do you choose fun and ecology or the efficiency and the speed? Certainly each one has the time for every method !
1 Mar 2016 2:06pm
And they still use the abacus today.... and..... you don't have to worry about batteries! A wonderful scenario.... and fun!! :)
1 Mar 2016 2:24pm
@Carol: Sure right about the batteries . . (R)
@Aigleloup: Thank you. ( L&R)
@Francisco Romero: Thank you - much appreciated. ( from Lilly ) (and Ronnie )
Thanks for share those antique stuffs...:-)

At the Abacus I remember ... so, I learned in the early grades, calculating ... It was hard but it worked ... the
children of the modern age, know the Abacus, only as a toy ... please Lilly, not recycle the Abacus ... although he is already old, but looks functional and beautiful ... Ronnies calculator is also outdated ... if it is still functional, then keep it, and dispose him not ... thanks for the refresh ... conditioned by visiting, in your blog ... your ideas are versatile, instructive and in between, very funny ... thank you also for your visits and nice comments, in my blog ... you are always welcome ... 5* ... for the old time and the refresh ...

@fateme@@: Like Life, numbers are best when simple ! (Ronnie)
@helys: Thank you - hope your week is going well. (Ronnie)
I adore the very modern aspect of this abacus with these balls in color flashies !
I suppose that the point of feather of duck is rather effective in spite of tickling of feathers !
2 Mar 2016 8:58am
@ceteceva: Sneezing is a side-effect . . causing blurred vision. (Ronnie)
Hihi...J'aime beaucoup le stylet de Ronnie mais je préfère l'abaque de Lily!
2 Mar 2016 3:38pm
Stunning!!!!!
Abacus and modern calculating; both are so interesting!
2 Mar 2016 4:42pm
My children learned with the abacus ... still in my house. Thank you very much for evocation. Your conversation with Lilly has made me laugh as always ... you have magic in your head ... (and yours) You have found the ideal partner. HUGS!

I saw someone use an abacus some years ago.
Cute composition.
2 Mar 2016 10:40pm
@Irene: There is likely a training course on YouTube ! (Ronnie)

3 Mar 2016 10:36am
@Libouton Martine: Je vous remercie.
How fast we move on. I remember when the calculator debate was on about allowing it in the classroom!
3 Mar 2016 1:22pm
@Paleblue Photography: Ah, yes . . the pace of change ! Thanks amd welcome to OurTwoSense. ( Lilly and Ronnie )
Splendid images. It looks like Ronnie likes to stay in both the modern and bygone age with his quill pen.
4 Mar 2016 5:54am
@Michael Skorulski: Yes, I like to keep the options open . . (R)

@Nicou: Merci - avoir un bon week-end ! (L&R)
Wow ... What an amazing comparison here ... A neat and colourful abacus and the age old Casio cal-cu-late(or). I simply admire and love your conversations as always. And the real thrill is in your replies to the comments above.
Visiting your blog has been always a special experience. Great. Love you both, Ronnie and Lilly. :)
4 Mar 2016 9:08am
@Sam: Thank you, Sam - appreciated. (Lilly and Ronnie)
Excellent! Le boulier me rappelle mes jeunes années et la calculette... mon âge certain!))
5 Mar 2016 9:28pm
@mo.langel: Je connais le sentiment. (R)
The stylus and Casio calculator seem to be sharing sympathies and understanding of rejection...one old friend to another across the aeons...I wonder if Ronnie senses this but doesn't really understand of course....
6 Mar 2016 10:59am
@Gemma Wiseman: Yes, nicely put, Gemma . . (Ronnie)
Only Ronnie would think of using a feather stylus with modern technology.
16 Mar 2016 11:55am
The left one tends to disappear but it has my preference.... Sure we shall return there lol
