Lilly : Some cautions can be rather scary, you think ?
Ronnie : Everyone has to be so careful . . we are in litigious times.
Lilly : Be careful with long words - you might choke, Ronnie.

@omid: . . yes, it is best to nod agreeably and move on, I find ! (Ronnie)
You appear to have a valuable antique there Ronnie in the shape of the original IKEA flat pack, though the screws and the Allen key seem to be missing

@grouser: 'Valuable' ?! my luck has changed !! (R)
Fair warning but I would be chary of both :---(

@Hiro: Yes, we do feel targetted ! (L&R)
Both are scary....Better not be belligerent..Just move off , to be on the - literally - safe side !!!

20 Mar 2017 12:52pm
I agree with these words Ronnie: "everyone should be careful".
20 Mar 2017 2:40pm
Yes, it would be nice to assemble something before using it. Good luck.
20 Mar 2017 2:57pm
Ronnie has added new word to his vocabulary. Ltigious... now what does it mean.
20 Mar 2017 3:03pm
What has the world come to - chairs that cannot be sat in - there are warnings on everything nowadays. Be careful of coffee, it may be hot (let's hope so). and my personal favorite: "DO not use this is you are stupid. Use by stupid persons may result in injury and/or frivolous lawsuits, which may lead to ridicule and contempt." I think that about covers it, Ronnie.
20 Mar 2017 3:52pm
@Ruthiebear: Yes, I am very much with you there, Ruthie.
Long words can definitely get you into trouble these day in more ways than one. Best to just keep it short and to the point...especially when putting that old chair together!

The chair you can't sit in seems the perfect metaphor for the USA at his juncture. In this era of "alternative facts", someone will tell you it's the greatest chair ever. Go ahead, take a seat.

@Steve Rice: Smiles . . these are stranger times.
@Olivier: Saints preserve me !
On vit dans une société où on nous prend pour des enfants , à une époque , tu tombais de ta chaise défectueuse , tu la mettais de côté pour la réparer et surtout tu te relevais ;)

@Mickaël D: Des mots sages là pour sûr. (Ronnie)
Well ! I believe that it is necessary to register you Ronnie on the yoga to be able to sit down easily on the ground at any time !
20 Mar 2017 7:22pm
Chairs that you can only sit on after assembling and chairs that you can't sit on at all ... well, this must be ART then ;-)))
20 Mar 2017 9:04pm
@franz: You might well be right here, Franz !
I think I need to sit down to figure out how to assemble that thing-a-ma-jig. Perhaps it is an anti-tip device, but then I seem to be in a Catch-22.

It is funny that in Canada there are not nearly the law suits that take place in the U.S.. I think part of it is that we don't have the same worry about medical bills as down there. You have to sue to cover medical costs.

Switch the signs, same results. Interesting and clever stuff.
25 Mar 2017 4:17pm
@dik: Yes, true on the signs !
Ronnie's version seems incomplete, and am I being paranoid that 2 shapes are rather like bullets? (my first impression). But I guess that is a stretch. The other end does suggest these elements require screwing. And yes. Lilly's swivel chair may have a tipping element.
26 Mar 2017 8:01am
@Gemma Wiseman: Actually, my components there are complete - a back, seat and three legs ! (Ronnie)
