Lilly : Nearly hit by a truck photographing this sign for you, Ronnie !
Ronnie : Oh, I've learned never to trust any signal or sign.
Lilly : I guess we all learn that . .

Unfortunately, what you show us is certainly true. I find some drivers try to beat pedestrians to the crosswalk and will speed up to do so. Pedestrian fatalities are on the rise in this country especially when drivers are making right turns. They are relying on their cars ability to "see" pedestrians and stop for them. Such systems simply do not work in that situation.

@Steve Rice: All sadly true, Steve . . see it every day. (Ronnie)
C'est la preuve que traverser la route reste un acte risqué et ce malgré la signalisation.Le piéton est une cible.
25 Nov 2019 7:25am
@Captain Guildive Ajoupa: Oui, "cible"!
Japanese drivers rarely stop at the zebra zone without signals. I heard that's the bad point of Japanese drivers and non-Japanese drivers are more polite. Maybe what I heard is not true...
25 Nov 2019 8:47am
@Hiro: Just have to be careful wherever we are, I guess. (Ronnie)
Fantastic and photographed at the right time, the bus drives through red.
A great short story with a clear message.
25 Nov 2019 9:07am
@Willem: Yes !
25 Nov 2019 9:30am
Il faudrait être plus "sévère" quand "c'est vert" pour les piétons ( french joke, sorry....)
25 Nov 2019 9:49am
@Jean-LucT: Tout l'humour accepté ici ! (Ronnie)
Nothing / nobody is safe any more on the roads..
Road sense ? Exists only in Rule Books !!
Even walking on the roads has become dangerous !!
signal or no signal...Prayers count more !
25 Nov 2019 10:16am
@Devi: Yes, I agree . . (R)
Good captures of fast traffic situations.
25 Nov 2019 10:52am
Well timed capture Ronnie. Shame there are no cameras on the lights.
I find Zebra crossings are the most reliable for those 'will they, won't they' moments that add so much zest to crossing roads.
25 Nov 2019 10:54am
@grouser: . . I doubt many of the 'camera's' even function, G'ser. (Ronnie)
Encore un duo d'images qui fonctionne parfaitement !!
25 Nov 2019 11:29am
Please Look Out.....both of you !
We want to enjoy your experiences even longer
25 Nov 2019 11:51am
@Marjolein: We try !
Sometimes there are exciting situations
25 Nov 2019 12:11pm
I trust the signs and signals more than the drivers! :-) How often do drivers obey the signs and signals?
25 Nov 2019 12:34pm
Wow...it's criminal !
25 Nov 2019 12:55pm
You see this every day. It’s just plain scary to be out there these days.
25 Nov 2019 1:58pm
@Elaine Hancock: Yes . . I'm glad to read here it is not only me ! (Ronnie)
My experience with signs these days is drivers view them as suggestions, not mandates, thus the many tragedies.
25 Nov 2019 2:41pm
@Ruthiebear: Agree !
Heureusement qu'il n'a pas traversé...
25 Nov 2019 3:08pm
@jpla: Oui !..
The dangers increase. Roads, cars, bicycles, scooters and everything that rolls among the walking humans. The signs are fine but something else is missing. Perhaps a more responsible urban planning.
25 Nov 2019 3:47pm
@Adela Fonts: Ah, yes, pedestrians can be to blame, too ! (Ronnie)
The second shot is made just at times.
25 Nov 2019 3:48pm

25 Nov 2019 5:37pm

A compliment for the good combinations every X again.
25 Nov 2019 5:54pm
Fantastically well photographed
The red bus is allowed to drive at a red light ??
25 Nov 2019 7:59pm
@mE: . . allowed or not, it did !
Many tourists have a problem in GB because they look the wrong way before stepping into the street, and as you have proven, not all drivers obey the signals or signs.
25 Nov 2019 8:12pm
I like the framing.. in both images.
25 Nov 2019 10:13pm
I am glad you are standing near the road edges so you can dodge or jump to the curve. May I suggest you do not plan a joint project that involves railroad bridges.
26 Nov 2019 1:54am

29 Nov 2019 5:14pm
@tataray: Très vrai - s'applique à nous tous! Passez un bon week-end. ( L&R )
Our paths are full of dangers and even more so when we think ourselves "protected". Terrible examples in your pictures!
29 Nov 2019 5:28pm
@Kiki: Yes, the dangers are there all the time . .
Clever and wise.
